1. It's a great time to buy as long as the S&P is in the mid 1400s.
Look for the index to trade in the 1600s by early next year. We are indeed fortunate to have such wonderful buying opportunities.

5. Wha?
With the foreclosures, mortgage companies going under, housing expected to be in the tank for a minimum of 2 years and hedge funds in terrible straits?

Even Merrill Lynch is telling their customers to gird their loins, stock the root cellar and hunker down.

Pass that thing over here. Second thought, don't.

9. Yes, these things have provided the catalyst for an overdue market correction.
But it's just a correction; the fundamentals are still sound. The downturn in the housing market is actually helping to keep the economy from overheating right now

8. I bought in in 2003 near the market low. The S&P has been up over 90% since then.

I've been buying the past week. The fundamentals are sound. But hey, to each his own!

Edit: Oh, I'll pass on those hedge funds, they've never interested me one bit!

2. Looks like a bad Monday.
It is still the market correcting itself IMO.

4. That's really not unusual... at all
I've seen those swing by far greater numbers and have little affect on the US market.

10. The market is up today, but the day isn't over, and no telling
what the week will bring.

I got out of the market when bush took the throne. I wish I would have kept the Apple stock I bought at $10 per share.
