A challenge for DU donors:

Granted, you don't see the "I donated to the third quarter fund drive" tag next to my nick - yet. The reason is I'm laid off and basically broke right now but I hope to make a donation before the end of the drive anyway as I have previously done.

Having now prefaced with my situation, I would like to issue a challenge to those of you who have or who will donate to DU during this fund drive. Please refer to this post by Dr. Phool:

First, I'd like to thank Dr. Phool for bringing this exciting project to our attention. http://www.therealnews.com">TheRealNews.com is probably the most exciting promise I've seen in a long time. Think about it, a news network that actually reports the "news"! I won't go on and on about it, and as excited as I am I could!

Anyways, here's the challenge: I challenge all who donate to DU to also donate an equal amount to The Real News. The Real News promises un-biased, "real", relevant news that we don't get from Murdoch & Co. You can learn more by clicking on the link above or in Dr. Phool's post. If you become as excited by the prospect of a news network that is truly impartial and relevant, as is advertised on their website, then accept my challenge and donate.
