well, he had to put clothes on just to make himself look visible. He wore a hat and a cloak, until someone lifted his hat and saw no head! that really freaked them out.

Remember how he had his head bandaged and wore dark glasses, and when he took the glasses off, you could see inside his "head". And when he unwrapped the bandages, mummy-style, nothing was there!

One funny part of the film was that in order to escape, he had to take his clothes off - but when the police followed his trail, the footprints were of shoes, not of bare feet.:rofl:

Anyway, I saw every 30s, 40s, and 50s horror/scifi/fantasy flick ever made.

Actually, one of the things that Mr. catnapper and I found in common several decades ago was our mutual love for Ray Harryhausen films, specifically "The 7th Voyage of Sinbad".

Fresh veggies are so unbelievably good. Too bad people don't have the experience. I'm sure my mother would still be eating canned crap too if she were alive.

but fresh green beans are great, my cousin made a wonderful recipe browned sesame seeds and then added the green beans and a little oil, came out great.

They are soooo good. A little hot mustard and some hot sauce. :bounce:

I cooked them in very little veg broth with maybe a little onion, dash of lemon juice tiny slice of butter. Sometimes I saute mushrooms before adding the beans. I also love this sweet/tangy red pepper compote cooked with fresh green beans. Yummy.

We've been living together almost 10 years and we've never bought canned vegetables.

Fruit cocktail!
Wedge of iceberg lettuce smothered in 1000-Island Dressing.(salad!)
Lettuce leaf (iceberg) with ring of canned pineapple on top and chunk of cream cheese in the center, topped with a maraschino cherry. (alternate salad!)
Tater Tots (vegetable!)
Instant mashed potatoes (vegetable!)
Pot roast (stringey beef cooked to death in French's Onion Soup mix!!!!:puke:)

But there's one thing that still holds a special place in my heart:

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. Guilty pleasure. Comfort food. Nothing can compare.

Ham pot pie where you drop big gooey hunks of dough into a pot. You know, that stick to your ribs "German" food.

I was so insulted when my mother broke up the spaghetti into little pieces and through into the sauce. I vowed to never cook like that. And never have.

We NEVER ate Asian cuisine growing up. It was too...Bohemian? So now my favorite restaurants are Thai/Japanese/Chinese.

Her red cabbage was great. If fresh veggies were on sale, we had them although my mother would cook them until they were mush. My dad was a really good cook.

I went to a party and someone cooked up a casserole of bagged/frozen hashbrowns with cream of mushroom soup and sour cream, topped with grated american cheese. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

The non plus ultra of Ohio cuisine.

In my early teens, the Green Giant "boil in a bag" veggies were The Thing. Of course, they were saturated in butter and transfats - but they were VEGETABLES!

kitty poo problems? Not to belittle your sitch. Pod flat-out refuses to use the box anymore. We have to put big adult-incontinence bed liners on the floor by the garage door and she uses those. Sometimes, he'd make it to the box but wouldn't position himself correctly. We started using wee-wee pads as mats around the litter boxes.

Some bozo got in my car a month or so ago and I had the cops there before the guy could do anything. He did break the wiper handle. So I got all that fixed and talked to his probation officer, etc. He's going to court later in August.

but again, last sunday night, my car alarms starts going off, etc. and he didn't get in. I'm just wondering if its the same SOB. This little prick is not getting my car. (excuse the language :-) )

My 'hood is starting to get bad and I am looking on the other side of the Bay. It's cheaper over there too. I'll miss being 15 min. from home tho.

We're supposedly in a nice neighborhood (of course where I live that's a code word) and someone came into our driveway and busted the back glass out of the car that the 17 yr. old drives in an attempt to steal the speakers out of the car. We live where we do because as long as the Mr. works for the electric cooperative that employs him, we'll always be in more rural areas. I hope that you find a place where the living conditions are better for you!

School seems to get earlier each yr., but TN is at the bottom in so many areas why? Mr. lefty was at an event today and he confronted 2 (R) members of the Gen. Assembly about that very question! He annoys me, then redeems himself! He's compiling info. (with some help from me) to confront our Bush rubber-stamping repug rep., Zach Wamp, on the 23rd of this month.

We're all doing well.

Everyone's doing ok. I think I'm going to take Skid in for the ultrasound later this week. I've only seen slight improvement. The vet said the pro-biotic could take about a month to work and it's been almost a month. His appetite's good though, he's my buddy.

I've never had food poisoning, but the Mr. has and he is paranoid to this day about something that's been in the 'fridge for 2-3 days! Of course, he was at a restaurant when he contracted it, but it was so nasty, he still (after 2 decades) freaks over this possibility!

Glad you're better. When I had something similar a few weeks ago, my sister swore by Gatorade. Plain water just won't rehydrate you.

The gatorade is a bit sweet I like to wash it down with a water chasher.
