On his show last night O'Reilly smugly told kiss-ass "Democratic" strategist Kirsten Powers that "most Americans won't support a candidate if they have the backing of a gay right's group". He flat out lied. He claimed that "Pew Research" put the poll out.
First off, it wasn't Pew, I checked Pew, no poll on gay rights recently, and he claimed this was a "brand new poll". In fact, he was referring to a Quinnipiac Poll discussed on Politico.com. Peter Brown, another Republican weasel, overstated the results of his own poll, but the bare numbers make liars out of both of them.
Only 28% of voters would be "less likely" to vote for a candidate backed by a gay right's group. 60% wouldn't care either way. That, by the way, is LESS opposition than people who would vote against someone backed by the religious right.
Media Matters, take notice. Olbermann too.
