Good lord, David Gregory is freaking tall
I knew he was tall, but not like that. He made Meredith and Roker look like midgets. I thought he was standing on something, joking around. He's got a foot on both of them. I didn't quite realize how big 6'5 was.

1. That's why the Shrub gave him the nickname, Stretch. I don't think David was pleased with that and
Shrub then decided to call another reporter that instead.

2. I had a student intern who was 6' - 5" tall. I know another guy who's so tall...
that he has to duck under doors in order not to hit his head. :wow:

5. my best friend is 6'6 (and a muscled 350) and I have a cousin who is almost 6'8
and people always would crack up whenever I'd be hanging out with one of them. I never realized the stark difference in height, I'm 5'1, so I bet it did look hilarious. I once almost ran right into Channing Frye (plays in the NBA now) in a fast food restaurant. He's like 6'11. I almost broke my neck looking up at him, haha.

14. When I was in college, the girl next door to me dated Dominique Wilkins (later an Atlanta Hawk)
He played for the UGA basketball team at the time. Boy, was he ever tall! He seemed to fill up the hallway in the dormitory

19. Two of my nephews
who I had hoped would box are large. The older one is 6'3" and 285 lbs; the younger one is 6'6" and 235 lbs. Both were outstanding athletes, and I used to have them hit the bags, etc. But basketball and football distracted them.

7. DH is 6' 5"
and he jokes about the permanent dent he has in the top of his head from door jambs and low flying potracks. Sad thing is - he DOES have a dent.

15. I'm 5' 8", but I have a permanent crik in my neck after a couple of decades
And our kid is heading to the same height or better. But I've already warned him that I can still stand on a chair to yell at him, if needed.

3. I had a friend who's son played basketball at Princeton -
I'm not going to drop his name on this board.
He was 6'9" and when he walked into our house he filled up the living room.
I'm 6'4" and I had to look up to him.

You don't realize what big is, until you see someone 6'6" and above.

I'm too short to ever really stand back and see the difference myself.

...in heels, I am an easy 6' 2" tall. The guy I dated in college was slightly over 6'5"...and, yeah, people would turn and stare at the two of us. But....the tallest guy I dated was 6'10" ~~ talk about really, really getting stared at!

8. I have a 16-year-old cousin who's 6'5"
There are only two people in his entire school who are taller than he is, and one of them's a teacher. He hit 6' shortly after he turned 12--I actually forget how tall he is if I haven't seen him in a while.

13. My late husband was 6-foot tall when he was 12 years old...
Edited on Tue Aug-14-07 10:56 AM by Hepburn
..and you should see the pics of his 6th grade Boy Scout Troop. Um...yeah, he does stand out! I was 5'-8.5" tall when I was 11 years old and totally could identify with what he went through being so tall, so early. Easier on a male, IMO, than a female to be that tall in grade school.

10. My b-i-l is 6'6" ...
He got tired of answering the same 2 questions he got from everyone he met ... so, when asked, "How TALL are you?" ... his standard response was, "5'18", and I don't play basketball."

they usually make their guests stand in a pothole on Times Square. I guess they finally filled it.
