Did Verizon sneak in a change in terms this summer?
Seems like everyone I know with a teenager (me included) got hit with a big bill for text messages in the last month or so. Use doesn't seem that different (got to dig out to compare) but the bill is a whopper. Some people's have been much worse than mine. My daughter kept saying there is no charge because it is Verizon to Verizon but she had that wrong. Did our kids just go text nuts this summer or did Verizon change things?

3. Well...
I know that when they introduced the unlimited to all numbers plan a couple months ago, I called and asked to go to that. They didn't make the change until yesterday after a second call on it. They saw that I did, in fact, request the change and then made it. The net result for usage in the interim was nil, but they were willing to credit my account. I've been mostly happy with them for almost 5 years. Especially after hearing nightmares from Sprint and Cingular and others.

5. I haven't noticed an increase.
My bills show the same price as when I signed up, for both txt and pic messages.

6. My bill stayed the same
I txt often too. If you can see any discrepancy with it, call Verizon and tell them and usually they'll change it. If they are not willing to cooperate ( Verizon usually is )simply just mention that you'll switch to Sprint and AT&T and they'll treat you like royalty to get you too stay.

7. About six months ago
my son's text messages increased substantially. (We have Cingular, now AT&T) I went to unlimited text messages. No problem. It's possible that your kid did start doing a whole lot more texting, but you'd have to compare bills to be absolutely certain.

I can tell you that I spent literally years trying to get the best match of plan to our usage. Now that we have the rollover minutes and since most of our calls happen to be to other Cingular phones, and three of the four of us are on a "family plan" we now have more than 3,000 minutes in the bank.
