2. Does venezualia torture people
Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 02:17 PM by booley
Do they disapear people? Do they violently put down protests?

I am seriously asking. i haven't heard of these things. And the anti-Chavez people never mention these things that i have seen.

But these are the kinds of things dictators do. Our government has done these things at one point or another (espcially under Shrub) yet we are supposed to be "free'. So if Chavez is a dictator, shouldn't he be doing these things?

4. Chavez does something worse than torture and disappear people and invade sovereign countries
Edited on Sun Aug-19-07 02:34 PM by NNN0LHI
He refuses to kiss the Bush regimes ass. Thats what he does that is so bad. Torture, murder, invading and occupying sovereign countries is hunky dory with our government and media as long as they kiss Bush's ass I have noticed.

The leader of Uzbekistan has had people boiled in oil and he gets invited to the White House. That thug, whatever his name is, kisses Bush's ass real well too.

6. No they don't violently put down protests, not even those funded by the US
The US has been spreading a ton of money around Venezuela's colleges to get the students out on the streets to protest Chavez. Even though these students were prodded by us to be aggressive, Chavez just gave them space to do their thing.

Of course, Chavez did make a speech saying he knew what our NED money was doing in universities. One thing you can count on about Chavez, he is never quiet.

7. No takers in this corner
Chávez is not above criticism, but torture is not his style.

That is left to real tyrants.

the ones I love the most are the clairvoyants: the ones who KNOW all the bad things he's going to do in the future, like, say, close down TV stations as he's done....wait a minute, he hasn't DONE that yet, has he? merely not renew the over the air license of the station that actively supported the coup, and who still broadcasts on satellite and cable

funny now the ones who claims he shuts down oppo voices never can seem to get that simple fact straight, isn't it?
