Philip Atkinson's Final Solution
Here it is right out in the open. (sort of)

This aticle was pulled from the Family Security Matters web site for some reason. ...hmmm

I didn't hear about it when it was posted, so I'm providing a link so we can all see the real face of neoconservatism in it's purest form.

http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:cnnnSRimWmcJ:www.familysecuritymatters.org/index.php%3Fid%3D1208571+%22president+for+life+bush%22+site:familysecuritymatters.org&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=3&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Here are the highlights. (?)

"The inadequacy of Democracy, rule by the majority, is undeniable – for it demands adopting ideas because they are popular, rather than because they are wise.

The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead.

By elevating popular fancy over truth, Democracy is clearly an enemy of not just truth, but duty and justice, which makes it the worst form of government.

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

He could then follow Caesar's example and use his newfound popularity with the military to wield military power to become the first permanent president of America, and end the civil chaos caused by the continually squabbling Congress and the out-of-control Supreme Court.

President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court."

1. Who is Philip Atkinson and what's his significance? A "thread" with two responses?
I'm headed off to bed, will check this in the morning.

I await yet more enlightenment.

Hopefully, there isn't a pyramid scheme involved. MKJ

The reason this is more important than the rantings of a random whackjob is that this essay by Philip Atkinson entitled Conquering the Drawbacks of Democracy was published by the editors of Family Security Matters, run out of the offices of the Center for Security Policy, a right wing 'think tank' featuring a membership of many prominent former and current government officials and other neocons. If any of those folks subscribe to the views esposed in that essay, there is good reason to suspect that a violent military takeover of the U.S. government and the destruction of democracy is something that high ranking government officials may be entertaining, with the reasoning that democracy is not up to the task of providing security and that only a Rome-like dictatorship under a Caesar like figure would be adequate. Vigilance is in order here.

3. Man, this is like a page out of...
Star Wars...when Annakin is telling Padme about his plan to force order on the
people for their own good--because he knows better than anyone else.

These people really are like something out of science fiction.

Help us Obi Wan Kenobe...you're our only hope.
