I'm feeling pretty weary right now.
It's tough to keep up with subpoenas and scandals.

It's tough to keep up with the dems and their clean table.

It's tough keeping my powder dry.

My congresscritters continue to ignore me.

And the occupation goes on.

Iraqis continue to die.

Soldiers continue to die.

Vets continue to be ignored.

Our economy is tanking.

I'm just flat-assed getting weary.

2. I felt that way until I started volunteering for a candidate
I think it would be bad form for me to say who I'm volunteering for in this post, but the optimism and energy from the people who work and volunteer there is a real pick-me-up. I learned a secret there; no matter how you feel, work toward your goal. Elections are won by people who don't give up. (Just a suggestion).

5. Don't get weary, get active
Read this:

We're about to apply the Jefferson Manual as a way to bring Impeachment to the floor of the House.

6. Trying hard to think of some cheerful to say,
and I have to admit that I can't. So rest for a bit if you need to my friend. Noticed that I didn't say give-up, don't do that. Remember that the fight is being carried on. We are not alone.
Now go get a cold one:toast: you'll feel better later.

7. Me too.
What keeps me going is:

-a sense of humor
-some bulldog tendencies inherited from my English grandfather
-the knowledge that I know I've made a difference, small though it be
-this website where I know I'm always surrounded by like-minded people
-coffee
-encouragement from my closet-liberal father (who knew? how could I have missed this for so many years?), a nephew-in-law, and a great sister
-time outs with my furpack of bouviers and other assorted pets
-being able to put my tinfoil hat away when "conspiracies" are confirmed to be the truth
-the occasional smug sense of satisfaction when a former disbeliever nods in agreement
-my Impeach Cheney baseball cap and the positive comments it draws
-I like the challenge
-the knowledge that this is just too important to let it rest
-the beauty of the Constitution and a sense of awe in its creation
-not being able to think of anything more important I could do with my life at this time, in the sense of the future, respect for the past, and the relevancy of the now
-a good night's rest and a nap when the mood hits

I get down about the whole mess, too. It seems sometimes like there's no progress being made, and I have to remind myself that progress has been made, if only from the general increase of awareness in We the People. You have done that, I have done that, and everyone here and at all the other progressive websites around have done that, and I have to believe that is no small task we have accomplished.

I know this is a well-used quote, but look at how far along the phrase we have come!

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

Seems to me, we're 3/4 of the way along.

12.  It is wearing , some people like me can only take so much
The worst part is there is not alot we can do about all of this . Certainly we can protest and not end up on bushs list or wear a T-shirt or have a bumper sticker but we have gotten nowhere other than to rise the awareness , however if people continue to support consuming we are just delaying the inevitable , a great depression .

14. I'm tired, too
For at least the last five years my hopes have been raised, only to be crushed. OMG! The Downing Street Memos! Finally, they will be brought down! OMG! They lied about the WMD's, ex-CIA agents are saying there WAS no bad intelligence, only manipulated intelligence. They will be brought down! OMG! Once the public gets wind of Fahrenheit 9/11, ALL WILL BE EXPOSED! People will see! They will be brought down! OMG! The outing of a covert CIA agent happened in the Bush administration! DEFINITELY, THEY WILL BE BROUGHT DOWN!
Not to mention Gonzo, the impotent Democratic Congress, the economy, fixed news....
I am trying my level best to get through this, though. I've recently begun volunteering, as some of your other respondents have mentioned.
Sometimes a scathing LTTE can do wonders, as well.
Chin up (one more time), unhappycamper. This too shall (MUST) pass.
