September looms with another Iraq War authorization vote - we will not see a repeat of May - right?

The next Iraq War funding reauthorization vote is slated for sometime in September (last I heard). The May vote ended up being a major pothole in the DEMS pre-election 06 promise to end Shrub's immoral war of aggression; I wonder how things are lining up now?

I was so damn pissed off - thanks to Joe Biden and all the other DEMS that caved - I sure as hell hope we won't see a repeat performance. Every time the DEMS wimp out to Shrub's request to continue the war, the lines between us and them blurs and we lose another handful of faithful supporters. We simply can't afford to give Shrub another blank check! Of course, that's what we said last time.

We are only 10 days out from September.

Anybody know when the next IWR vote is scheduled and is the line different with the DEMS than it was last May? :shrug:

Not seeing much optimism from you or anyone for that matter on the DEMS next step. We do have the likes of Kucinich and Feingold who try to keep the team thinking right; but I fear if we yet again give Shrub another fucking 3-4 months X's another X's another...where is the threshold of patience for even us passionate Democratic party folks???

There is a limit and I already know several former party activists that are so disillusioned by the DEMS prior cave-ins that they are sitting out the next election (minus an Al Gore miracle).

"middle of the road" Democrats. It's the others, combined with the Republican votes, that will sink the Democrats who vote to hold Bush accountable through sheer numbers.

I don't know how they can call daily bombings progress, but they are. When the leadership takes a position like that, it's hard to find a way to change the perception in the public eye. I do not know why they chose to go this route. I don't see how it can do anything except extend the war.
