Someone left another note on my windshield on Sunday (Dial-up warning)
Edited on Wed Aug-22-07 04:35 PM by IanDB1
So, this Sunday I had breakfast with the family at the Friendly's Restaurant in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Local residents will recognize the spot.

Right next to this gleaming example of the job our Republican Mayor Jim "Fireman-Slapper" Harrington is doing in improving the economy of our city:

Because, after all, how can you keep a Bickford's restaurant in business when it's walking distance to the High School, The Brockton Rox Stadium, a Convention Center and the fair grounds, right? I mean... anyway, I'm getting off-topic.

Anyway, we finished our breakfast at Friendly's, and I found this note on my windshield:

So, I guess I, and 75% of America "got it wrong," and some idiot who makes their exclamation points with hollow circles on the bottom is in the 25% of the country that's SMART?

What a bunch of geniuses the Bushies are.

Here is some of their handiwork that has been left behind for me:

Again... with the pre-teen-girl-style exclamation points?

And as usual, Conservatives and Republicans are overly concerned with other people's assholes, and putting things in them...

... and they mispelled "marriage."

Another note left on my windshield yesterday

My guess... and this is just a GUESS... is that the note was placed there by a freakishly-tall girl wearing a Stone Hill College Basketball sweatshirt, or the friend who was with her. That's base on circumstantial evidence and hunch, mostly. But there were very few people at Friendly's while we were there, and they were the only ones who seemed to fit the "hollow circle" exclamation-point-writing profile.

1. 75%
What does the 75% refer to? I'm lost.

Man, with a car like that, I'm surprised that you only got a little note! LOL. I can imagine some motivated RW'ers doing worse than that!

10. Bush approval rating at 25%
But the 75% are not united. Some of them probably do not approve of Bush because he has not killed all the liberals yet.

I am surprised that a person collects so many negative notes in Massachusetts.

What does a person hope to accomplish with a short note like that? At least, though, it was more respectful than the other two.

seriously, that bubble exclamation point is classic sign of immaturity, blah blah blah. It would be fun and amusing for you to analyze the handwriting of these note-leavers, because they all have the classic signs of low intellect and low-intelligence.

Edited on Thu Aug-23-07 07:02 AM by IanDB1
But there are still certain things that grapholigiists have gotten correct-- and the open-circle exclamation point is one of those.

I've still got a couple books on it at home. I've got the one I bought in thrid-grade, "The Tell-Tale Line," and a more "adult" resource I bought in 7th grade, plus one I picked-up in a buck-a-book in 8th grade.

I'm just as willing to receive anonymous notes of a political nature as I am to give them.

Although mine are better...

Hey, I'm as liberal as the next guy, but I limit it to one Darwin Fish and a magnetic blue "Bring the Troops Home" ribbon. All those stickers are going to cause some finish issues. And they're really sort of ugly. I've spent too much money on my car (a baby blue 2004 convertible beetle) to deliberately make it look like ass.

33. The whole bumper needs to be replaced eventually anyway.
Two days after I bought it, someone hit it in the parking lot (before I had ANY stickers) and left without so much as a note.

And a few months later, some kid ran a yellow light and dinged the OTHER side of the back bumper pretty well. I got his insurance information, but then I lost it.

And then ANOTHER time a big-ass SUV rear-ended me pretty good, and actually did some damage. The bumper stickers actually cover-up some of that.

So, before I sell the car, the bumper will need to be replaced anyway.

I'm not a big fan of blanketing my automobiles with 300 in your face bumper stickers. I don't personally think that does anyone any good other than attract attention for the sake of attention, and enjoy the feeling of being a martyr when the predictable angry messages start to come.

That's why I personally don't choose to express myself in that way.

Having said that, I strongly defend someone else's right to express themselves freely and that expression is certainly no justification for the harassing bullshit you've gotten from other people.

Kudos to you for choosing to practice your first amendment rights the way you personally deem best! :hi:

48. What's "sick" is when an ordinary citizen takes personal issue with dissention against Bush.
When they aren't one of his family members or a personal friend, it is they who are "sick" in taking their blind loyalty to a personal level.

I'd love to hear a psychiatrist's opinion about why these people idolize this dictator & why they take the opposition so personally. I know why I have antagonistic feelings about my opposition: frustration that they don't know or don't care to hear the truth, that their votes helped cause the deterioration of our government. They apparently have as much contempt for the Constitution & the Bill of Rights that their dear leader has; the laws upon which our country was founded were wise enough for every president to follow until now because -- duh -- those laws aren't appropriate for their way of thinking.

Just what in the hell has this dictator done for these ordinary citizens, is what I'd like to know, but they don't like to discuss it for some reason.

54. You have all those great bumper stickers and you support the DRAFT!! Huh?
I keed, I keed!! I misread one of them as "Peace and Equality are ORAL values" Maybe the dingbat who wrote "you are sick" thought the same thing? (I think I just called myself a dingbat!)

55. You are inviting this type of thing.
Is that the idea? I mean, do what you want and more power to you but it's not a shock that this sort of thing happens to you. I'm surprised they haven't flattened your tires or smashed your windshield. I like the stickers.

61. I have no problem with them leaving notes, or even yelling and giving me the finger.
I'm not COMPLAINING that I got a note on my windshield.

68. Maybe that's because Myers Flat is Where I Shat?
I'm kidding you.

I know nothing about Myers Flat.

I bet that hemp sticker gets you pulled-over a lot.

What's that one on the far-left say.... "{something} go back"?

69. Its says "floridiots go back"...with apologies
to the good people of Florida of course. That was just after the 2000 election snafu...
Myers Flat is in the heart of the Redwoods,Humboldt County, California.
A little store there fought to keep its post office and has been passing out those stickers ever since.
Sadly, Beaner the bus is about to become idle, no more road trips for him, he has succumbed to the Coastal rust of the PNW...
The Hemp sticker...well, NorCal and Southern Oregon have a very lenient policy regarding the number one cash crop of the area...and most cops know the difference between 'hemp" and that other weed.

70. I love the dainty little asterisks they use when they want to swear!
What is it about people that makes them think "F*ck You" is somehow more palatable than "Fuck You"?

Not cool on the responses you've gotten. They are some wacky people. I'm surprised you haven't gotten worse.

72. You shoud leave a note on your own car...
Something to the effect of, "If your going to leave a nasty note on this car, why not instead come in and speak your mind directly to my face? Unless you're a coward, in which case, feel free to leave your petty note."

Now I realize that you get some positive notes as well. But I wouldn't consider those kinds of notes petty...

74. Just a thought
Edited on Thu Aug-23-07 11:11 AM by Gilligan
I have a friend here where I live whose car looks a lot like yours. She has had her tires slashed. She has had her windows broken. I fear for her safety.

While I totally agree with all of your bumper stickers and signs - I would never drive my kids around in your car for fear that some gun toting nazi would shoot us to death.

I had my car keyed for just having a KLSD 1360 Talk Radio bumper sticker and a peace sign decal... Of course, maybe they keyed the passenger side because of my Apple Logo?
