ABC evening news had an interesting report on Putin's Russia

How their secret service searches innocent people, how their oil is making them rich, how their current generation is making 20x as much money as their parents, and people seem to be happy with their leader.

Wow.

Then they turned to yet another Chinese recall...

but don't think for a minute Bush doesn't have envy for what Putin has. COMPLETELY unchecked power and no real requirement to step down.

Putin also this month ordered text books revised to treat STALIN as a good guy. That should scare even the dead.

Mind you, if money wasn't an object and had to make a choice, I'd side with Bush.

Except Russia is primed to become a power, thanks to corporate interests, while we're all starving and being crushed by bridges.

Don't think of a context. I haven't.

Putin scares the shit out of me.

That's why I call it BushPutinism.

because it seems like, SHORTLY after the stolen election of 2000, Pooty-Poot decided the whole democracy thing was bullshit (and who can honestly blame him, since 2000 Amerikan "democracy" has been a hollow shell, and a lie) and it was only then that he REALLY started doing what Bush was doing (in a subtler way) here.

So I call it BushPutinism, because Putin really HAS taken that method of control and adopted/adapted it to his home country and situation. In so many ways, now, especioally in matters of politics and media, Amerika is indistinguishable from Russia, although BushPutinists in the different countries take different paths to the same ends.

So I guess that means not indistinguishable in the literal sense, but rather indistinguishable in the matter of the ends, not how they are arrived at.

I laid eyes on ABC. I even gave up my two favorite shows, Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Lost.

Oh I've passed by and stopped for a minute or two to catch as much as I could stand of Stephanopolis on Sunday mornings but other than that I haven't watched, or gone on purpose to their website or any other Disney propery, since Sept 9, 2006.

I don't have to remind any of you why that date is important with regard to my boycott of ABC.
