Two of this morning's guests, Mychal Massie (National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives) and Allan Sloan (Fortune Magazine) reached the mark of the worst I've seen on the program.
Brian Lamb began the segment with Mychal Massie by asking him what his educational background was. Mr. Massie responded by saying that he began his educational career at 'a ivy league school' but that didn't suit him so he moved to a community college - which one he failed to mention, and then he said he also had a lot of life experience. OK, no education. Brian Lamb said nothing and the show went on with Mr. Massie spouting the nonsense of the religious right. A couple of born-agains called in and praised him.
Next up was Allan Sloan to educate us on the state of the economy. From start to finish of this segment Mr. Sloan told us time and time again that he was unfamiliar with the specifics of the subject, that he was unaware of facts brought to light by callers, that he 'understood the problem but couldn't explain it', or he 'simply did not know'. Why in hell this ignoramus was sitting at the table is still a mystery to me.
Fascist Fridays have always been bad enough but if C-Span has to dip down to guests who have no fact-based opinion, as is the case of Mr. Sloan, a guest so polluted by religious belief and devoid of even the basics of educational background as to be unable to answer the simplest of questions then Brian might as well take the program off the air.
It was disgusting and far beneath the quality of programming normally seen in the mornings.
