Just in case you missed it on Hardball last night
anyone else catch Rep. Eric Cantor (R) saying that Bush can go and attack Iran at his pleasure? He claimed that Bush does NOT need to come to Congress, that The President is wholly authorized to go to war...with anyone!

7. Oh, Thanks!
Preserved! No doubt how Cantor will be voting...er not voting...er

He's the Con's "Chief Deputy Whip" so I doubt he's alone in his thinking about it. I'm going to have to do a bit of research about Rep. Cantor and check his statements during 1997, when a Democrat was in the WH.

4. Cantor got his talking points mixed up
"commanders on the ground" is for dodging questions on Iraq. It makes no sense when speaking about whether to attack Iran.

8. Funny thing about that which Matthews sort of pointed out
It seems to me that the Commanders on the ground wouldn't go outside the bounds of their mission, as defined by the Commander in Chief, of course.

11. Oh that's definitely what happend.
And that was the trigger that made my husband explode. He usually laughs at these light-weights, but that statement FREAKED him out.

5. Members of congress
should be required to go to a class on the constitution of the United States. And they should be required to PASS IT> 99% of them don't know a damn thing about the constitution, democrats included. And the republican memebers sure don't know there is a Bill of Rights.

6. 'pukes like Cantor who seem to clearly prefer a 'puke dictator to a constitutional
president are all traitors to the founding principles of this Republic and have violated their sacred oaths of office, IMNSHO, but sadly tens of millions of Amurikkkans also do not seem to give a shit and consequently, if so, prefer a 'puke dictator to a constitutional president.

12. He's been there since '86!
Hard to imagine how he handled 8 years of torture through Bill Clinton.

10. Yep! My Libertarian attorney husband, who usually LAUGHS
loud and long at most of what he sees on the boob-tube was FOAMING AT THE MOUTH.

All I could do was say, "See it DOES matter who you're with politically."

13. Is he aware that this guy is in the leadership?
He's something like #2 or #3 in their caucus. "Deputy Chief Whip"
