New DU Group: Crafts Group
The mission of the DU Crafts Group is to discuss all sorts of fiber and paper crafts including sewing, crochet, knitting, quilting and needlework. Also polymer clay, rubber stamping, doll and jewelry making, beading, scrapbooking, woodworking, computer and nature crafts. You name the craft, we'd like to talk about it.

1. Good deal. An awful lot of people practice those crafts as hobbies, or professionally.
You're making DU more meaningful and more of a resource for DUers.

Well-done.

2. Thanks
I've been thinking of trying to make an acoustic guitar, either from scratch or with a kit such as the ones available through the lutherie woods suppliers online.

One potential problem I see with this crafts group is that the interests might be so wide-ranging that no two people share an interest in the same type of craft. Guitar-making, for example, involves woodworking, but a cabinet maker would probably have little insight into or interest in the arcane technical issues involved with building acoustic guitars. Hopefully, though, enough people will participate so that there are plenty of people who share the same specific interests in the same type of craft.

So git on over there! :D (I posted a link for one thing I'm working on now that has a lot of gorgeous free patterns elsewhere on the same site) It's an earlier post in another thread, not the "what are you working on" thread.
