The DU Rorschach Test - what do you see
Whatever you see in it, I am probably seeing something totally different based on my life and experiences (what I have seen, read, lived, etc).

I won't tell you that your interpretation is jacked up, and respect that mine is based on my crazy ass.

But we can explain to each other why we see what we do. And in the end we might both learn something and a new perspective.

PS - I see a foreign landscape from a far off planet through the eyes of a 21st century artistic robot who drew it as he drifted in space with his brother hubble. The big blob near the top left is alien edward's house.

26. Blame all the Dungeons and Dragons I played in the 80's for this one.
To me this looks like Bahamut (the penultimate "good" dragon, on the left), coming to take down either Tiamat (the penultimate "evil" dragon) or a very ancient and powerful red (evil, stupid and fire-breathing) dragon, on the right. There is a lake at the bottom and you can see various human and humanoid entities fighting on behalf of both dragons, scattered here and there. At the top is the cave of the evil dragon and it almost looks like you can see a pile of bones and skulls scattered about the entrance.

There isn't anything more profound in this picture than that to me, but pencil-and-paper role playing games usually go hand-in-hand with odd imaginations. :)

28. I have the 2nd edition books but have barely used them.
When I was in my heyday it was all about either the Basic and Expert boxed sets, which were the watered-down version of the game, or the Advanced D&D books with their myriad add-ons, modules and all. You know I used to have the original AD&D Monster Manual with the cartoony cover, in excellent condition, and gave it to somebody as I was preparing to move because I didn't have the room to take it with me? I hear that book is worth good money now. :(

72. I had the whole original set - and my fundie history teacher burned them
cause they was of the devil.

And the school didn't do jack shit about it...happened at his home where we were having a campout with a group of kids, I was like 15 I think. He got mad that I had brought them. We went into his house for breakfast and I took them in to read. He said he would not have satan's books in his home, grabbed em, and took them out to the campfire and burned em. We were all shocked.

My dad went to the school and confronted them over the cost of the books and the incident - their reply was 'well we talked to him and he said your son broke the microwave so it works out even on the cost' - and no, we did not break the microwave. I put something in it, hit start, and it didn't start so he blamed me...

The 80's were really fucked up in some ways.

There's no question in my mind that "pornography is in the eye of the beholder." Likewise, so is 'offensive.'

55. Thank You For This Amazingly Brilliant Post. This Is One Of The Most Creative Threads I've Seen.
You took a huge topic of debate, and turned it into its most simplistic logical form through use of creativity. I give you all sorts of kudos for this thread and will gladly recommend it.

As far as what I see: I see anger and fear trying to overtake logic and wisdom. Logic and wisdom are holding anger and fear off; but the battle is not yet over. (and if curious, Logic is the little wizard like character in the middle. I'll leave it to others to find the rest)

Is filled with all colors and sizes, and how one perceives it is oft times related to but a small speck on the painting of all life.

When we step back, we see we are all on the same canvas, and what must others be thinking when they see what our hands have wrought?
