Fisrt Your Money...Then Your Clothes
Here are the lyrics to a song I wrote a while back. I took a copy to a local
public radio station but I guess they did not want to air it for fear of
the consequenses. They rely almost completely on public donations and alot of
people out here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area still support Bush and his policies. I knew when I wrote this song that some would love it and some would
hate it. Because of the political nature of the lyrics and because I have no
video made as of this date I'm posting in GD. When I get a video done I'll
post it in the Musician's Group with the appropriate cross links. DU'ers may
share this as they wish.

First Your Money...(Then Your Clothes)
Lyrics And Music By James F. Miller

After 9-11 when the towers came down
Uncle Sammy got up and he looked around.
said "Boys we got to go into Afghanistan."
and we all agreed to the very last man.

So we packed up and went to Khyber Pass
to find Osama Bin-Ladin and kick the Talibans ass,
but George and Dick and Paul, they wanted more,
they wanted their own little holy war.

Yeah they wanted ol' Saddam so friggin bad
that they blew the best chance that we ever had
to show the world the wisdom of American ways
and that's how we got where we are today.

But that's how it goes and God only knows

Yeah they're dyin' for Exxon, they're dyin' for Gulf,
they're dyin' for B.P. and if that's not enough
they're dyin' for George and Dick and ol' Paul too
they're dyin' for me, and yes they're dyin' for you.

And you can take all of Iraq and wrap it up in our flag
as the heros come home in their body bags
all the wasted lives, the tears and the blood
just how the hell can that be any good?

But that's how it goes and God only knows

I'd like to see Dubya on a drillin' rig floor
see him pull 8 hours maybe pull 8 more
it's where my Grandpa died, some good friends too.
And we all had pride in what we used to do

we busted our asses gettin' oil from the ground
then our jobs dried up when the price went down
and Regan sold us out for Kuwati Gold
all the drillers I knew died poor and old.

But that's how it goes...First your money then your clothes

Are my words treason? Some might say so,
let em say what they will because they don't know
they all get what they think from some fat pill head
who will never pick a weapon up or end up dead.

And all the chicken hawks send the troops
out to die while they sit on their ass
at home safe and dry
then they all parade around with their
stripes and stars in their bomb-proof
building and their bullet-proof cars.

Get their automatic raises and their
pension plans that we paid for
with the blisters on our hands
then they put out their sound bites
spin their big lies
and we get the best government
that bribes can buy...

But that's how it goes, first your
money then your clothes
