Did Rove expose Craig story for his bosses best pal Alberto ????-Deflection
One last grand gesture?

someone knew about Craig imho....

3. Rumor has it
they knew about Craig for years, but he was always a loyal soldier to the RW causes. His mistake was getting caught. He tried to make it go away, but it didn't. So he was toast.

I seriously doubt Rove had anything to do with this. Gonzo was already gone and was pretty much done with as far as the media was concerned. If he gets indicted for something that will change.

Nope, this was just another bad day in an ever growing list of bad days for the GOP.

4. unlikely, but if Rove did it, shows growing impotence--he has to smear his own side

5. Q: What do bomb squads do with bombs?
A: They take them to safe areas and blow them up under controlled circumstances.

Larry was rumored to diddle with Pages much like Foley. After Foley, perhaps the Republican leadership wanted to defuse this political time bomb before the next election. In a nice, safe manner that wouldn't reflect badly on the Republican Party. And if the timing could be used to deflect attention from Rove and Gonzo, well, all the better.

Listen to that recording with the cop again. Does the cop sound like someone talking to one of the 200 most powerful men in the country? Or does it sound like someone who knew he was talking to a political dead man?

6. While I do not think Rove

7. The tape release
That tape of Craig discussing his toilet habits seemed strategically timed to elicit a resignation.
