Time to do the math.

Of the 1,000,000 illegal immigrants coming over the border from Mexico each year you would expect the following deaths during the year:

Total deaths: 8,400

Suicide: 109
Heart Disease: 2,417
Cancer: 1,932
Stroke: 564
Accidents: 370

4. poor math. very, VERY poor math

where to begin?

first, the article compares how many people died DURING THE TRIP ACROSS THE BORDER, not over the course of an entire year.

second, the sample of people who trek across the border is not representative of the population at large. e.g., people who are within a year of death due to cancer or otherwise in ill health are probably less likely to be attempting the crossing.

i won't even get into the comparison of death due to natural causes vs. death due to hyperactive immigration enforcement.
