Brace yourself.
We're about to have a non-stop week of blaringly loud admin/repuke pr on how great things are in Iraq, how hopeful, how much progress is being made, blah, blah, blah.

It started a couple of weeks ago, but today's little jaunt up the ante.
Bush will speak from Iraq at 12:30. I'm sure he'll be followed by lots of repukes chiming in. The media will give them wall to wall coverage leading up to the Petraeus/Crocker report on the 10th.

I find this unbelievably frustrating. The dems are being outmaneuvered by the idiot in chief and his thugs.

18. Fortunately I think you are correct
Even his supporters are sick and tired of hearing about HIS stupid war and want to move on to more important things.

don't be surprised if you see some results from this pr campaign.

24. Perhaps, but the bumps are smaller and shorter in duration
...and the backlash (falls to a lower level after the bump) leaves him wondering if he can do anything right.

He will fail.

He is a failure.

Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 01:50 PM by Virginia Dare
in that regard. I think Dana Perino is a total airhead and not at all up to the job. John Warner is now free to hammer away at the administration on the war, and rumor is Hagel will soon do the same. Bush will have a rough go over the next year.

3. We've been getting it all summer.
"The surge is working." We've heard that multiple time per day for months. Petraeus had his pre-report interview in Australia to help work out the kinks in his talking points.

As usual, the American public will swallow the hook.

5. Reid has already said he will work with the GOP on extending the invasion
and giving up the idea of leaving or even some wimpy timetable withdrawal.

DC Dem leadership were never really on board with their constituents anti-war demands.

7. I respectfully disagree.
The democrats are not being "outmaneuvered" by anyone. They are entirely to blame for their behaviors. To say the administration has outmaneuvered them implies that they are not exclusively responsible for their continued support and financing of the war of occupation in Iraq.

10. Agreed. I should have said the
admin/repukes are intent on manipulating public opinion in anticipation of the report. I don't mean to give the dems any cover on this. They really don't deserve it.

11. One of the things
that I think is telling is that when Bush started fronting for the "surge," Patrick Buchanan was able to describe, without any chance of error, how the democrats would use this to script their continued support of the war of occupation in Iraq.

27. Look for many new Dems going to Congress
in 2008 and 2010.

The current crop will be replaced with those who are willing to stand up to criminals in the GOP. I'm already considering a run myself.

28. Not gonna happen
at least not in 2008. Even in my state, which is as pro-impeachment, anti-war, as any state in the country, Peter Welch will likely not even be challenged.

but watch for it to happen elsewhere. The tide is definitely turning and the Dem party is being rebuilt with leaders who reflect its values.

8. The "surge" was never anything but an ESCALATION.
Surges subside, escalations only continue to escalate. They were lying then, and the lies are just going to come deeper and faster this week. . with the full-throated accompaniment of the wholly compromised media.

29. They'll use their "Al-CIAda is off balance" LIE instead of their...
"the insurgency is in their last throes" LIE, because that one didn't work too well...

Of course, the bu$che/cheney Reich don't care about anyone dying for their LIES.

And maybe the pelosi/reid "two faced" accomplices don't care about them dying for their LIES too...

Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 09:10 AM by SoCalDem
aren't we?? And look how we howled at the IRAQI government's plans to take August off.. No leg for us to stand on..

There are ELEVEN undone YEARLY OCCURING bills that have to pass before 9-30.. What the HELL have they been doing for a whole year?(I realize that the dems have not been in charge the whole time, but sheez louise..)

Dems always back off when they are perfectly poised to make valuable points..and of course republicans love the vacuum.. Even though they are also "on vacation", there sure seem to be a lot of them availale to the media..

17. Iran war will infuse another $250 to $500 billion in war spending
...which will be good for Wall Street, war profiteers and big banks which benefit from this boost in U.S. Federal debt. Working American tax payers must bear the burden for this additional war cost in higher prices on all goods and services, future tax increases and the blood of their sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, husbands and wives. War is a racket!:hide: :yoiks:
