Assclown in Chief says he'll have a "fantastic Freedom Institute" to spread democracy
around the world after he leaves the White House, and when he gets bored promoting democracy he'll drive out to the pig farm for a break from it all. In between, he'll be giving speeches for fifty to seventy grand a pop to "replenish the ol' coffers." Others have remarked on this phenomenon, but it does seem to be increasingly difficult to tell on these matters concerning the Idiot King whether you are reading The Onion or a real news item.

Author Robert Draper was given rare access to the president and his inner circle for a book that I can only assume the White House thought would be sympathetic. So then the question becomes are they so out of touch that they think this is a sympathetic characterization?:

In an interview with a book author in the Oval Office one day last December, he daydreamed about the next phase of his life, when his time will be his own.

First, Mr. Bush said, “I’ll give some speeches, just to replenish the ol’ coffers.” With assets that have been estimated as high as nearly $21 million, Mr. Bush added, “I don’t know what my dad gets - it’s more than 50-75″ thousand dollars a speech, and “Clinton’s making a lot of money.”

Then he said, “We’ll have a nice place in Dallas,” where he will be running what he called “a fantastic Freedom Institute” promoting democracy around the world. But he added, “I can just envision getting in the car, getting bored, going down to the ranch.”

6. With people incredulously or howlingly turning off the TV with him on
who in the hell would willingly come and pay to hear his tripe when he no longer wears the crown?
What makes him think we want to hear his regurgitated 3 thoughts and to read prompter cards of stuff made up by others?
How about the coffers of all those in coffins?
How much money does one family need?
Don't cry for me, Argentina - yeah, right - I am so mad I could spit nails.

8. Hmmm...
Couldn't a strong case be made for invoking the Son of Sam Law.
(A Son of Sam Law is a law designed to keep criminals from profiting from their crimes often by selling their stories to publishers. Such laws often authorize the state to seize money earned from such a deal and use it to compensate the criminal's victims.)

I'm just sayin'.....

11. He has a dismal future in public speaking I predict..
who is going to pay 50-75K to listen to the complete and utter nonsensical drunken drivel that comes out of his mouth. The only audiences he manages to wrangle now are captive. I don't think he's ever invited anyplace, even as a sitting President, he just bogarts his way in. He have the commencement speech at some very small right-wing wack city college this year IIRC.

13. In other words..
Edited on Tue Sep-04-07 09:49 AM by Javaman
he* will give it a name, but someone else will do the work, fund the project and run the place. Like most things in his* life, he* lets someone else take care of his pet projects and fuck ups.

if he* ran it, it would be built upside down and inside out. it would suffer from poor plumbing and electrical problems. It would be build on a 10 year flood plain with a foundation that wasn't allowed to dry.

It would be then be staffed by people that couldn't do anything else in the real world and so would suffer budget overruns and cost discrepancies.

Once completed it would cost seven times it's original price tag and collapse on it's grand opening.

sound familiar?
