Little Paul Bremer fights back....
Edited on Tue Sep-04-07 03:41 PM by XOKCowboy
It seems the little craphound (lap craphound?) doesn't want to get thrown under the bus by his idol GeeDub. Bush was quoted this weekend that he didn't want to disband the Iraqi Army thereby laying one of the stupidest decisions in the aftermath of our glorious occupation of Iraq squarely at the feet of Bremer. So this weekend Bremer fought back and sent the dreaded NYTimes letters showing that he told Shrub in advance of his plans.

Little Britches caught lying! Imagine that! Stay tuned for the SwiftBoating of LPaul to start immediately.

I found the story on Americablog. Link to the story is there. Here is an excerpt.

The dismantling of the Iraqi Army in the aftermath of the American invasion is now widely regarded as a mistake that stoked rebellion among hundreds of thousands of former Iraqi soldiers and made it more difficult to reduce sectarian bloodshed and attacks by insurgents. In releasing the letters, Mr. Bremer said he wanted to refute the suggestion in Mr. Bush’s comment that Mr. Bremer had acted to disband the army without the knowledge and concurrence of the White House.

“We must make it clear to everyone that we mean business: that Saddam and the Baathists are finished,” Mr. Bremer wrote in a letter that was drafted on May 20, 2003, and sent to the president on May 22 through Donald H. Rumsfeld, then secretary of defense.

After recounting American efforts to remove members of the Baath Party of Saddam Hussein from civilian agencies, Mr. Bremer told Mr. Bush that he would “parallel this step with an even more robust measure” to dismantle the Iraq military.

One day later, Mr. Bush wrote back a short thank you letter. “Your leadership is apparent,” the president wrote. “You have quickly made a positive and significant impact. You have my full support and confidence.”

1. He's still holding onto the delusion that his "medal of freedom"
actually "means something" :eyes:

The next President will have to commission a new award and end use of this one,now that it has been reduced to the value of a smilie lapel sticker pulled out of the trash bin.

2. When Mr. Bremer opens his bank accounts for all to see, then I
might believe anything he says. Just how much of that pallet of cash that he lost in Iraq ended up in some Swiss account with his name on it. I don't trust either one of them.

6. Believe the letters. They are not opinions of Bremmer.
The letters prove that Busholini lied about this matter & was attempting CYA. This will be a pattern that Busholini will use over & over in defense of his screw ups & crimes.

5. Bush's response to this incredible move sounds like a form letter.
Wonder if brownie and other got the same notes anytime they wrote him. I don't know why neither of these knuckleheads seems to see that they both fucked this up beyond any reason. Do either of them think this crap exonerates them?

8. From everything I've ever seen Bremer say....
he's positive that he did the right thing in Iraq. He was tasked with a mission to turn Iraq into NeoCon Utopia (a mission with which he totally believed in) and still believes he did the right thing. I've never seen one shred of remorse from the guy.

9. Am I reading this right?
bremmer, in an attempt to show that dumbya is lying, now takes full responsibility for disbanding the Iraqi army. Is that right? He's taking responsibility for one of the stupidest moves, in a long line of stupid moves?

11. Oh he has no remorse for what he did...
He just wants to show the world he had the blessings of his dear leader for the blunder.

12. Bremmer takes full responsibility for disbanding the Iraqi army.
Yes he does. In fact, he wrote a book about his experiences in Iraq.

13. Great comment over on AmericaBlog....
That letter from Bush is clearly a forgery. When have you ever heard him form complete and coherent sentences like that? I'd believe it if the letter read, "Heckuva job there Bremie! I bet it's real hot over there. It's hot here too. So yesterday I had some ice cream, 'cause that's what you do when it's hot."

14. Purging all Baathists was Achmed Chalabi's idea &
Bremmer went along with that, as well. No doubt that Busholini signed off on that, as well.

'My Year in Iraq,' by L. Paul Bremer III - The New York Times Book ...
Americans in Iraq, L. Paul Bremer III writes in his memoir, reminded him of "an understrength fire crew."

17. Will Busholini or a Spokes Liar try to counter Bremmer's
documentation that proves Busholini lied about disbanding the Iraqi Military?
