Something is wrong, when I enjoy every word that Bill Clinton
is saying, marveling at the way he expresses himself, his ideas, his vocabulary.... because the current president comes on as such a moran every time he opens his mouth.

When did we stop expecting our presidents to sound like educated, intelligent, knowledgeable people?

Why would Bush think that anyone would pay top dollar to hear him speak after he leaves office?

P.S. Clinton just appeared on Dave Letterman. I almost expected him to grab the saxophone and play a few notes, after he and the saxophonist exchanged smiles.

1. Sad isn't it
To be impressed with mere competancy. He had his faults this is true and I mean policy and not that retarded Monica shit that was the only thing the FReeps could comprehend as a vile transgression....

We were liked internationally...if not loved...respected.

Dippy has thrown all that away and his non-passport owning retard voters couldn't care less.

2. Did you notice that he could actually carry on a conversation without having every word
written down on a piece of paper by a speech writer?:eyes: The psycho is intellectually bankrupt. PERIOD. There is no comparison between Bill Clinton's mind and the psycho's.

3. Of course. And the fact that we notice this and admire this
instead of taking this for granted is really what is so sad.

7. Ever started talking to someone
that you expect to be relatively smart, like a banker or a lawyer or a ceo or a judge, and you realize at some point in the conversation that he or she is just punch-you-in-the-face stupid? It changes the whole dynamic. You realize you may never make your point or fulfill the purpose of your conversation, because the smiling jackass standing in front of you has no clue. I just have that impression, not only of Bush, but of most of his inner circle. Gonzales, Rove, on down the line- slackers, drop outs and idiots- they don't read books, they have no intellectual curiosity and they project fear and loathing toward anyone who does. And yet somehow these halfwits got to move from the kiddie table to the main dinning room, but they are still throwing food and making fart jokes. You are right. Say what you will about Mr. Clinton, at least we knew he was smart.

12. Over the weekend we saw on cable the movie "Idiocracy"
which was released last year with no marketing or promotion, but which got rave reviews from the ones who did see it.

And when I watch regular news, the topics that make the news like that dog torturer football guy or all the bimbos, I realize that we are spiraling downwards.

Funny thing, though, the movies starts by saying that at the turn of the 21st century, evolution favored not the intelligent ones, but the ones who reproduced the most. Thus, the highly educated couple seeking just the right time to have kids never had any, while the trailer trash couple continued to multiply.

And I was reminded of the freepers who are certain that the future is theirs since they have more kids, and no abortion. And I thought: oh, that kind of a future.

4. Congratulations! You have now been 'dumbed down'.....
Edited on Tue Sep-04-07 11:59 PM by Mind_your_head
you are feeling the effects, ONLY b/c you have known something 'better'. For MILLIONS of young Americans, who have never known anything other than a "Bush/Clinton and/or Bush"....it's all 'normal'.

Give another 20-50 years and all of us 'oldsters' will be gone - THEN the BIG TAKEOVER will be a fait accompli!

edit: added a 'dash' for clarity

5. I got to meet The Big Dog last year and hear him speak..
It was at a huge convention in LA. When Clinton came through backstage he said hello to everyone and shook their hand. When he took the stage he had the whole crowd in his hand. You felt like he was speaking only to you. He's got a magnificent presence and as you said it does seem strange after 6 yrs of Mumbles that we should have a President who sounds educated, intelligent and knowledgeable.

As to why would Bush think that anyone would pay to hear his ramblings, it's ego. Like Jim Hightower said "he was born on 3rd base and thinks he hit a triple". Totally delusional.

6. When did we stop expecting our presidents to sound like educated, intelligent, knowledgeable people?
When they started reaching the oval office by selection rather than election.

Unfortunately, they figured out how to do it twice!

9. We just lucked out with Big Dawg. America *thought* he was the run-of-the-mill yokel idiot...
... He sure fooled us, thank god. But except for him, we've been electing idiot Presidents for the bulk of my lifetime.

11. I'd say that the dumb ass will be lucky to get a nickle at a dog fight at Vick's house.

But I know there are people that will throw money at the fool to keep him afloat and prollee the rest of his life. Maybe they'll just pay him to keep his mouth shut.
