In a Vanity Fair article in which I believe Mr. Gore was searching for closure to the dastardly events of 2000 that I believe the media and the American people allowed to be buried under the rug, Mrs. Gore was quoted as stating that if Mr. Gore turned over one night and told her he felt he had to run that she would support him… Wow, STOP THE PRESSES! You mean to say that a woman who loves her husband and has been with him through everything for over thirty years stated that she will continue to stand by her man and his choices?
And that is great, however, that is not how the sneaky MSM wants people to see it and is why the MSM is now once again highlighting that over the substance of that same interview to somehow make people think that they are “teasing” all of us. But then the Nobel Peace Prize will also be announced next month as well and Mr. Gore by all indications is a front runner for it, so of course that too has to be tied to some political motivation and secret planning or it just isn’t worth talking about.
Please. Did people learn nothing form 2000? Did those who read Mr. Gore’s The Assault on Reason learn nothing?
Why is it for all of our derision and rightfully so of a media that does nothing but hawk BS and rhetoric do so many still eat anything they spoon out and willfully follow their game plan? Mrs. Gore’s appropriate words seemed to me to be a wife supporting her husband. I would do the same for mine. She also already stated that people want to "take him for a walk in the woods" and he isn't going! in a TIME piece just a couple of months ago, but leave it to the MSM to push ONLY this and nothing else about Mr. Gore's current work either, and leave it to people who decry the media and their tactics the most for their cherry picking and sound bites to eat it all up. They just love hyping some juicy innuendos about Mr. Gore running, because hey, it keeps them on the air.
I wonder if the ticker on MSN will also report that this month Mr. Gore is beginning the ad blitz through The Alliance for Climate Protection to wake up this country to the truth of the urgency we all face unless we stop being distracted by this media BS and actually turn off the television and get up and out and work to stop the millions of tons of GHGS spewing into our atmosphere that are causing our relationship with this planet to change forever?
Yes, I’m sure they will...but only if they can attach an angle to it. Sigh.
And these words by Mrs. Gore are not new. She spoke them as well in an interview on Good Morning America about one month after An Inconvenient Truth came out last year because of course, the media just had to press her about that instead of talking about the movie to give the impression that it was a “campaign movie.” Just like Diane Sawyer practically browbeat Al Gore about it again to an 08 backdrop when she should have been asking him questions about The Assault On Reason just a couple of months ago.
And of course, the headline here about him running was more important than his movie at the time. No wonder he stated he isn't interested in running in 08. It would seem to me that he is only "appreciated" by the media for the political hype that can be created from using his name.

"If he were going to run in the future, of course I would support him," Tipper Gore told ABCNews' Claire Shipman in her first television interview in four years. "I think he'd be a fantastic president. He already got a majority of votes of people in this country once, and so that says something."
Al Gore is back in the political spotlight with his new documentary on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth," and some are wondering if he'll make another run for president.
"I can't say yes, can't say no," Tipper Gore said. "He is saying he's not interested in running in '08."
At the premiere of his film, Al Gore was more circumspect, however. His exact words were, "I don't have plans to be a candidate again." His wife said not to read too much into the phrasing, however.
"Let me say it exactly," Tipper Gore said. "He has said, 'I'm not interested in running in '08.' Now, as he also says, he's 58. He's got many more years. He probably figures, 'Who knows what might come?' He never imagined he'd be in the movies, walking up a red carpet in Cannes."
And Mrs. Gore also stated this:
"You have to move on, take the hand that's dealt you. Find other good things in life and other ways to serve," Tipper Gore said. "He also seems to be quite content with life the way it is right now. I told somebody the other day I went to bed with a recovering politician, and I woke up with a movie star, and it's great!"
Tipper Gore said her husband will be able to affect policy and the public debate on key issues even if he never enters politics again.
"He can continue to be a senior statesperson," she said. "That's something he believes in deeply -- there's not enough reasoned discourse on the issues in this country. If he can go out there and stir that pot, he's going to continue to do that."

But of course, those last words won't make a MSM ticker line or the greatest page on a weblog because well, they just aren't JUICY enough. And like her, I would support anything he CHOSE to do as well. But the constant harping, harranging, and twisting just to suit political agendas while in my view totally ignoring what he may really want to do is to me disrespectful to the man.
He was in it for THIRTY LONG YEARS and did so much good in them, and still it isn't good enough? And any wife who loves her husband as Mrs. Gore loves hers would of course support any endeavor of his, and I commend her for it. But I find it unfair of some to take that and highlight it just to make a specific political point. WHY do people think the MSM is only harping on that line now? They would LOVE to rip him to shreds. And I think they would actually love to see him not get the Nobel Prize, and all of this political tying in of everything he is doing to some clandestine political plan is in my view not helping him at all. It is as if people think he isn't worthy of support unless he does it THEIR way. Personally, I'm sick of this whole political "campaign" already and the media BS that goes with it… and it goes on and on and on and on. While the fate of our planet gets little to no coverage.
Which is why I turned it off a LONG time ago.
