But I have a feeling you'll never find someone of the purity you're after.

...Single Vote People...

That's right.

Single Vote People...people who hold up a litmus test for someone even though 99.9% of their other votes support their interests. People aren't perfect...and boy, oh, boy, that is a problem!

and all feelings of hope flew out the window, as the corp-whores voices took the helm...the idea that one man..like MLK, JFK, RFK, Malcolm X..etc., can make a difference is such a long-shot..like winning the lottery...but the possibility is intoxicating.

If a candidate had to wait until there was no news about the Bush Administration lying before they could announce, then they'd have to wait until 2009 to declare their candidacy.

24. HE'S A GENIUS; sets up case for change brilliantly
"I know I haven't spent a lot of time in Washington... but I've spent enough time to know that it NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!"

"Fortuanately, our founders designed a system of government to support change."

Brings up references of changes in the past and ties them today... very well thought out.

he clearly sees the power of the individual citizen for what it can be. He understand that this change needs to be a group effort carried out by individual citizens--that we all need to sacrifice to achieve it.

I feel like we inched a little closer to that dream today.

71. Very cold there
It was about 12 degrees in Springfield. Obama probably has frost bite after being out in the cold for over and hour. Great speech, especially considering the environment.

91. Candy Crowfoot was trying her best to bash him
but she couldn't think fast enough.

She tried to claim that she "couldn't hear above the noise of the crowd" so she wasn't sure exactly what HANDSOME T.J. Holmes was asking her.

She heard the question, her butt was just still on the floor from the speech. :bounce:

The sound bits were awesome!
When CNN flashed them on the screen, it was beautiful! :bounce:

breathlessly trying to figure out ways that Obama could be politically taken out before 08.

Too early in the for me to waste all my goosebumps, though.

89. Just think of the impression he would make on our behalf to the
world. At the helm of our injured country, he might be the one the world would be able to trust. Wouldn't it be something to be able to get our reputation back? I am not ready to support any one candidate yet, but, this was a great day. (Plus, I just love intelligence!)

104. Obama impressed me today
The speech didn't seem as robotic as some I've seen from him. I love the fact he hinted at single payer health care. Health care in this country is a mess, with many uninsured and plans doing all they can NOT to cover people. I thought the speech showed an honest shift away from the status quo.

If Kucinich has dropped out by the PA primary, I'm now leaning towards voting for Obama.
