To me that is one of his greatest assets. He hasn't been entrenched in the shit of DC.

No one owns him. Hopefully.

Go Obama!!!!

1. That's a good point
To counter the "lack of experience" meme.

In this field, experience is not necessarily a good thing. Cheney has lots of experience.

Obama is a Godsend!

He just might win.

4. Personally I dont like that angle -- it is how they sold George Bush
In a abstract sense I really don't like the idea -- I want a President who understands how things get done, and that includes a thorough understanding how the Congress works.

In a practical way the "shit of DC" really amounts to the BS that the Republican party has been pulling -- divisiveness, focusing on triviality, etc etc etc,

Obama has tons of great qualities that qualify him to be President. Personally I think he would be better to go with those rather than emphasising his Newbie status in Washington.

6. Whatever....I think the democrats are deep in the 'shit of DC' too.
He was an Illinois Senator for 7 years, so it's not like he doesn't know his way around the process.

They will use his perceived 'inexperience' against him. I see it as an asset.

7. "dems are deep in the "shit of DC" -- well so says Limbaugh
I personally don't believe it when the Repug apologists claim "Dems are just as corrupt"

Witness Nancy's Plane, and Reid Took Abramoff Money Too -- both claims are made up BS. Those are just two examples.

As far as divisiveness, there is no Dem Karl Rove as far as I can tell, and no Dem attacks anybody's patriotism. Can you imagine any Dem attacking the courage of Chuck Hagel? No. But you can imagine a Republican attacking the courage of Jack Murtha.

back to Obama --

You are absolutely right about Illinois Senator for 7 years -- I guess that is my point -- He has tons of qualifications and experience once you dig below the surface. That's a good way to counter the 'inexperience" nonsense.

8. I've never been lumped in with the likes of Limbaugh before.
I take offense to that, but I know we're on the same page.

With junior, I never bought into the 'outsider' story given his family history.

With Obama, I think it is absolutely true and an effective selling point.

As far as the 'shit of DC' I was referring to the number of congresscritters on both sides of the

aisle that are beholden to the lobbyists and I believe they are on both sides of the aisle.

The reason I hold on to the democratic virtues are because they DON'T HAVE a Karl Rove or the

baldfaced lies to condemn a Murtha or a Hagel.

9. Other Than His Sharp Intellect, I Agree With You. That Is Most Definitely An Asset.
I have high hopes for him. I really do. He's quite impressive and undoubtedly a future force to be reckoned with.

10. But Wasington itself has been there much longer
It itself is entrenched, it is owned. Doesn't seem to solve our troubles.
