Edwards & Obama & Kucinich
I hope these three guys make it through the election process unscathed. I am a real cynic but I do worry that if either one really gets 'hot' and looks like he might win then he might be assasinated. No, not by his Democratic rivals but by those unknown shadow actors in U.S. history.

It seems that any time a real progressive starts to make headway he ends up dead. Too much of a threat to the ruling classes.

1. Call me paranoid because of 24 but....
I'm going to definitely fear for the safety of Barack Obama when the state of California has its primary.

4. Edwards will be OK,
Edited on Sat Feb-10-07 12:02 PM by DiktatrW
he met with the Bilderburgs before the 04 selection and got the nod. Dennis should avoid small planes and I just have the feeling Obama will make his peace with the powers that be.

If I'm wrong about Obama then I would expect a sensational exposure of some significance to knock him out of the race before the loss of an acceptable Democratic candidate becomes too dangerous.

Knocking off a presidential contender would be a difficult thing, short timetables, discovery of the plot, and backlash are all hard to predict and I don't believe they will be taking any chances with this election.

5. They don't assassinate with bullets anymore - they own most media now, they
have more fun destroying their characters and turning them into objects of scorn.

That was the technique first used on George McGovern, then Mario Cuomo to take over NY, to impeach Clinton, to undermine Gore, to attack Dixie Chicks, to get rid of Dan Rather, to smear Joe Wilson, and to undermine Kerry.

It took eyes being opened on the presidential debates, then more on Terry Schiavo, and a category 5 hurricane to finally reveal how much of Bush was pure mythology constructed by the corporate media.

6. that's true but what with the 'internets' now
debunking these stories that route could get a little harder. we are out there now and jumping all over the crap they put out.

8. An assassin in selfish because he or she seeks to remove from public
consideration the words of a figure who might serve that public.

I want Brownback safe, even if I think he's a psychotic jerk, because the people decide if his candidacy has resonance. I want my candidates safe, too, not only because I respect and admire them, but because they are equal parts of that process. Ballots, not bullets.
