in the case of Gore, so the Demo candidate in '08 whoever he or she is doesn't have to do all that much better to win. This is a much better environment for Democrats than it was back in 'o4 or even '00, so there really should't be any trouble for a Dem to win barring a catastrophe of some kind. What I'm saying is a pickup on one or two more states will put us over the top. The Democrats finally have adequate funding and the knowhow to conduct a credible campaign for President, unlike years past. If the war is still in progress in '08 it will be all over for not only the Repub. presidential ticket, but many congressional Repubs as well.

if you do the math, it looks great. Very few who voted for Gore in '04 would not do so in '08. Probably not enough to count on one hand.

He won then, and the past six years have greatly enhanced his image, while making all pukes look awful.


So now why in the hell would not the Dem Party just stop fooling around, say "we KNOW who the best person for the job is" and send a delegation to Nashville to beg him to let them lick his boots?

He should never have conceded in my opinion. If he had just refused to concede the election, it would have denied Bush much of the status he needed to enact many of the draconian "homeland security" measures he has put in place. I thought he conceded because he wanted to "do the right thing" and wait for another day to fight, but now he says he's not interested.

Al Gore is a class act all the way. But the pubs fight dirty. And if you're gonna fight you need to fight to win. Our team didn't have the desire. The pubs wanted it more than we did, and they did whatever was necessary to achieve their goals. If our reps and candidates don't want it more than the pubs, we (Dems) are doomed.
