I'm trying to wrap my head around the concept that a greeter would run out into the parking lot to DEMAND to see a receipt. And worse, that a store manager would follow the greeter into the parking lot.

If these were Home Depot employees, the store manager would have been fired for going into the shopping lot in the first place (only Loss Prevention-trained associates are allowed to go outside the store to recover merchandise, and managers aren't Loss Prevention-trained; there's a two-week school in Atlanta you must attend and you've got to be a certified police officer to even be considered for it--our LPS people are either medically-retired cops or fit ones who are sick of writing speeding tickets and dealing with DWIs) and the LPS would have been fired for placing his body between the customer and his car.

Leaving the concept that you can endanger yourself over a piece of Circuit City's merchandise, the loss of a certain amount of which is built into their operating costs, and not get canned for it aside, the guy was being a total jerk about this shit, okay? when you go into a corporate owned store, you lose your rights the same way when you enlist in the army, you have to know that you cease to have any control over your life, or have any sense of justice, because there is none.

my only question to you really was, did you feel this attention on DU versus the real problems also points out that our DU audience, while relatively more intelligent than the average joe, is still susceptible to sensationalist stories and less worried about shit like , oh, I don't know some bombs being flown to Barksdale air force base in preparation for a nuclear strike on Iran??? you know stuff like that?????
