I've been watching the NBC replay of 9/11.
I didn't know that the Twin Towers took so long to go down. They stood there burning for quite awhile.

On that day, I didn't find out about it all 'til after they went down.

1. What is more frightening as you watch the video...know where Bush was.
And what he was doing. That half-hour at the elementary school (only seven minutes was spent reading the kids book; he spent another twenty minutes posing for pictures with the children and teachers) seems like an ETERNITY watching that video, especially when you realize that no one is doing anything. The president is talking to school children. No fighters are scrambling. It's beyond belief. Literally.

15. That's the commercial Kerry needed to air after he was Swift Boated.
Damn it, it still pisses me off that JFK didn't mount a frontal assault on Bush and call him out as a coward.

The election never would've been close enough to steal.

Damn. Damn. Damn.

18. It's called waving the bloody shirt, and it makes me fucking sick...
They're just trying to get everyone in that same non-thinking patriotic furor we were in immediately after 9/11.

It's so lame...

7. What's amazing is...
how full of crap the media was/ is...
repeating over and over some WH talking point
that there were no indications that there was
any kind of threat. That and other BS.

9. I'm guessing it took a while for enough of the structural steel to get warm enough...
...that the steel got soft and the structure collapsed.

16. i remember exactly what I was doing ...
I had woken up around 10:30am, stumbling around the apartment in a daze getting ready to drag myself into work. I was feeding my aquatic frogs when the phone rang. It was my Mum calling from Malaysia. She sounded panicked, saying something about the World Trade centers collapsing, planes crashing into it. My first reaction was, "what are you talking about? That's crazy!" She told me to turn on the tv to CNN. The second tower had collapsed a few minutes earlier, and all I saw was dust. I was in total disbelief, then the horror seeped in.

I've never been to NYC, even tho' I live in Baltimore, which is just a 4 hour drive away. Never had a reason to, I'm not that interested in visiting big cities. But I figured I'd get there someday, and one of the places I would have checked out was the view from the top of one of the towers. I had plenty of time, the towers would be there when I got around to visiting. No rush. Never in my wildest nightmares coukd I have come up with this sickening event.

Watching the NBC coverage was a new perspective, watching it live as it unfolded 6 years ago. It's too much to process, even now.

Six years later, and so much has happened; Afghanistan, Iraq, Katrina, and so many acts of corruption and incompetence. Something went horribly wrong on Sept. 11, 2001. Could it get any worse? Apparently, it has.

Al Queda did something utterly unimaginably horrific that day. The people who planned and executed it are psychopathic criminals.
George W. Bush , Dick Cheney, Donal Rumsfeld, and Condoleeza Rice have continued to keep us in a state of terror for the past 6 years. These people are traitors.
