everyone EXPECTED a president to step forward and TAKE CHARGE..

Our prez ran like a scared bunny and ended up hiding in a hideyhole at Offut AFB in Nebraska..

He sent out the wimmin-folk..first Karen Hughes, who stammered and babbled..and then Miss Condi in her cornflower-blue suit, as she fretted & sweated & pondered the mysteries of the attacks..

Into the void stepped Rudy..he used plain speech, and showed some empathy.. he did little more than ANY mayor would do (and has done) in any number of local calamities.. and that's what it was.. a LOCAL calamity..he did his job.. and looked fantastic because he was about the ONLY one speaking to the nation..

What is staggering is that DURING and AFTER the attacks in NYC, the nerve-center of our intelligence & defense departments seemed clueless and impotent.. I have often thought of what a rush it must have been for AQ, to know that they managed to inflict death & destruction on the HEADQUARTERS of the military of the most powerful nation on earth...and then the Secretary of defense of said country was reduced to doing little more than that of an EMT..

Rudy did what we should have expected him to do..but his actions that day, should have been overshadowed by the cool-headed, intelligent actions of our president..who only did what he always does..he went awol..and let others handle things

2. There actually was another reason, too.

He was running around all over the place that day because he had nowhere else to go -- because the Command Center, from which he was supposed to be operating in the midst of an emergency -- had been located in one of the blown-up Trade Center buildings.

He had been strongly advised against putting the Command Center in such a vulnerable location, but he wanted it to be within an easy walk of his office.

So on 9/11, with no Command Center, he found himself running around all over the site of the explosions, looking like a hero.

4. If Charles Manson was mayor at the time
shit, if I was mayor at the time we'd get the same "hero" status that Rudy got. Not saying he wasn't active but all you really had to do was be there.

5. Even OBL
in his '04 election special videotape mentioned that he expected those in power to react within 20 minutes of the hijackings begining but it took them over an hour.

6. Bush* earned the name "bunnypants" after that day and it stuck for a least four months.
Bush* is and has been his entire life a complete embarassment.

7. I kept asking all morning: "Where is the President? Where is NORAD...where is ANYONE?"
That's what I remember the most about 9/11 ...that's what haunts me ever since about it. As someone who lived through the Cold War "Duck & Cover" ...there was NO WAY I could believe even that Election Stealing, Squatter in the WH would act the way he did.

I'll never get over it and that's why we need INVESTIGATIONS ABOUT 9/11!
