Al Gore heads Emmy red carpet
Six months after achieving Oscar glory for his climate change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," former Vice President Al Gore is headed back to the red carpet for the Emmys, U.S. television's highest honors.

Gore is expected to receive an "interactive television services" Emmy, a noncompetitive award, on Sunday for his fledgling cable network and online video venture Current TV, which he launched in August 2005.

Current is one of five finalists for the award, decided by an interactive-media "peer jury" of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and presented for the first time during the live telecast of the Primetime Emmy Awards.

Gore, chairman of the venture, plans to attend the Emmys with chief executive and business partner Joel Hyatt, a spokeswoman said.

2. I love Al Gore, too. He is my favortite American. Why would anyone,
who cares about him want, to leave the Bush legacy on his shoulders. I do not envy the next president of the United States.

4. I believe he is more valuable to the world in his present role -
as "keeper of the earth". It is obvious he does not want to be president. Why destroy this honorable man and all of his accomplishments?

5. Maybe, I have more faith in Al Gore
not being destroyed by becoming President, also I believe being "keeper of the earth" and having a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee, along with some swell prizes along the way. But in the final analysis Al Gore has never said he didn't want to be President, I believe this myth is just so much creation from people that for one reason or another don't want him to run.

6. It will take years to undo the damge the Bush administration has done
to our country and the world - if it can ever be accomplished. I want our next president - no matter who he or she is - to really want the job as it is going to be a killer. Look how quickly we turn on our own!

8. I have no doubt, should Al Gore decide to run or even if he's drafted
to be President, he will only take the job because he wants it and believes he can right the wrongs of the Bush maladministration. If he doesn't he will continue his present work, I will support him regardless, having said that, I believe Al Gore is the best qualified person to take on such a task.

Also I believe no one knows better than Al Gore as to how quickly we turn on our own. Personally I view this as our blessing and our curse, as I believe the ideology of the Democratic Party holds it self to a higher standard than the Republican Party. The Republicans rarely think out side their pre-ordained box, they just follow the leader, like a herd of Buffalo running over a cliff. While we're more like the cat someone is trying to herd or put in a box.

9. Our cable company doesn't carry it
We just got MSNBC almost two years ago.

I just added Current Preview to my rss feed and am enjoying the videos and information I'm finding there.

7. Congratulations Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt !
"Democratizing" media is one of the most important things we need to do now. I am so proud to support this man because he goes above and beyond what any "president" can do. Again, anyone can sign a bill, but it takes a truly great man to make changes on such a wide scale while inspiring so many people from all walks of life and from all over the world.
