Hillary Announces Health Plan
Edited on Mon Sep-17-07 11:22 AM by stopbush
and on first blush, it sucks...makes health care "mandatory"...puts onus on the populace. Kucinich is the only one out there with THE plan we need in this country.

1. makes health care "mandatory"... ?? Wasn't that the Edwards idea?
That he'd require everyone to see the government doctor?

3. No, it doesn't make health care mandatory, it makes having insurance
mandatory.

Its a complete loser of a program. It makes the health care crisis far, far worse than it is today. You don't get it Mrs. Clinton, and it appears that you never will.

4. THAT is despicable!
Make it like car insurance. Except if a person can't afford it you can hardly say the equivalent of 'don't own a car'.

It sounds like the insurance industry's wet dream.

6. Hilliary care
Hillary's Health care plan is a sellout to insurance company's. shameful. if it helps her get elected then fine. but mandatory insurance like automobiles is furthering a sham. she already agreed with Joe Bidens Plan months ago. His is a plan that looks out for all of us. greedy for profit Insurance company's need to be removed from health care. It is the HMO's that created this hell to begin with.

8. No it doesn't put onus on the populace:
"Under the plan, federal subsidies would be provided for those who are not able to afford insurance, and large businesses would be required to provide or help pay for their employees' insurance.

Clinton's package would also require insurers to provide coverage for anyone who applies for it and would also bar insurance companies from charging people with greater health care costs more for their premiums."

I know in some quarters everything H. says and does "sucks," and everything Kucinich proposes, no matter how unrealistic, is the greatest gift to our civilization -- so I am not even sure why I am responding to this :)

15. Unfortunately, providing subsidies for those who can't afford
insurance will play right into the freeper's hands. I can hear them now bitching about "another government handout"..."entitlement program", etc., etc., etc. If it happens, everyone will have a story to tell about the "insurance welfare person" who got in to see a doctor or got better care than someone who's "paying their fair share".
I'm not taking anything away from the good points in her plan..I'm just saying the federal subsidies with drive the repukes crazy!

10. Yeah I was reading it.
It'll make the situation better at first glance, and any improvement is better than none I'll grant her that.

Unless I'm seeing it wrong she's basically going to make the companies not able to deny anyone...I guess that's OK in but it doesn't really elevate the source of our woes...

Frankly, I cannot see why we can't get rid of the damn insurance companies. Do we need a middleman making money from our health care? They'll possibly jack up their costs for those of us who already get coverage in Hillary's scenario. Not that I'm apart from the idea of my part helping out the less unfortunate, but it's still going to make the same damn companies rich instead of getting rid of them altogether and using my tax money to do the same.

Sadly, my preferred solution would un-employ many in their ranks but if the government actually took it over like they're supposed to it would create some governmental jobs.

Sounds like Hilary's plan is small government big private...now who uses that line?

Sigh...I guess it would be better than no change...
