Obama to Howard "It's Easy to Talk Tough"
My apologies if already posted. But just in case. Hope this is a sign that Obama the kind of candidate that will fire back.

Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs, traveling with the senator in Iowa, said Howard's words were misguided.

"The United States has sacrificed more than 3,000 brave young men and women and $400 billion, only to find ourselves mired in the middle of a sectarian civil war," he said. "Even Republicans ... know that more of the same is only going to attract more terrorists to Iraq and make our country less safe."

Gibbs went on to say that Howard was not in a position to be overly critical.

"If Prime Minister Howard truly believes what he says, perhaps his country should find its way to contribute more than just 1,400 troops so some American troops can come home," he said. "It's easy to talk tough when it's not your country or your troops making the sacrifices."

7. Obama is not my 1st pick, but that is EXACTLY the kind of reponse all of our candidates
need to give. Every time some Bushbot dipshit opens his mouth and tries to smear you, shove facts back in their faces.

9. Ha! Howard is in hot water with his people for the support he does send
and now he is getting slammed for not sending enough.

There is no way Howard can win here.

Good move!

10. I remember reading an article Obama did. It was about his Senate race. He said
Edited on Sun Feb-11-07 01:41 PM by in_cog_ni_to
no one expected him to win the seat and no one was paying any attention to him, so he decided he was just going to say what he felt. He wasn't going to just say what people wanted to hear. He said that it worked quite well for him because he WON the election. He decided then and there that he was going to continue doing what he did during that campaign. If it's not broken, don't fix it. He's so refreshing.

Politicians aren't going to know what to do with this guy. He speaks truth to power and isn't going to take their "swiftboating" without fighting back. Stay tuned. This guy is going to open some eyes.:)
