Mel Martinez - is he the senate's biggest idiot?

Today, the Military released a new report showing that attacks by insurgents are up. Civil strife and deaths higher than even 2005, no functioning government, total deaths higher, and a growing collapse throughout the country.

Yesterday, Mel Martinez took his White House script and read it carefully, stressing the bullet points, like:
THE SURGE IS WORKING
WE NEED MORE TIME
PATRAEUS IS WINNING
THE TROOPS ARE WINNING

Today, on MSNBC, he listened to the really bad findings released today, and still managed to claim that the surge is a success. Then he went on a tirade about the issue of the need for more time for the troops to rest at home. He is against it. It "destroys the communication between the troops and the officers". And this non sequitor, "But they know why they are there, and they know the progress they have made."

Senator, win or lose, progress or no progress, ignoring the horrific toll brought on by anti-insurgent combat operations, without the proper time to rest and recover, will drive our troops nuts. PTSD, Suicide, Mental breakdowns, Murder, Family break-ups, Family violence, and more. And you, you stupid son of a bitch, continue to read the White House script? F U C K you, you slimy bastard.

So, the question is, Is Senator Mel Martinez the biggest idiot holding office in Washington?

Nobody can compete with either Inhofe or Stevens.

They're into negative points even on the generous Feith scale.

Thus he seems uncritical and simple, but probably isn't. Inhofe, DeMint, Vitter--these guys strike me as just plain dumb.
