Statement of Sen Clinton on Potential Visit of Iranian Pres Mahmoud Ahmadine to Ground Zero
Statement of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton on Potential Visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Ground Zero

Washington, DC – In response to reports that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has requested to visit Ground Zero while in New York for the United Nations General Assembly meetings, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton issued the following statement:

"It is unacceptable for Iranian President Ahmadinejad, who refuses to renounce and end his own country’s support of terrorism, to visit the site of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil in our nation’s history."

14. I don't agree with that, although in one way I do.
I don't buy the nonsense that Bush caused it to happen, but I do think he wanted something to happen, to give him an excuse. He pulled back surveillance of terrorists, ignored the daily briefings from the CIA, refused to act on clear warnings that something would happen. He was hoping for another USS Cole style attack.

Close enough. Any other president would have stopped it. Bush didn't want to--he had plans for it.

3. I was an enthusiastic Hillary supporter a few years ago.
I have grown through through a non-committal stage to anger and frustration to active distaste for this creature.
I'm beginning to believe the cautionary tales related to me by others. Her open mouth, insert foot routine now includes dance on tongue.

I've been quite adamant about avoiding heavy discussions of candidate Hillary's record and qualifications for the presidency because of the upset it causes her supporters and the all too common unreasonable, vicious attacks it engenders.

No longer.

There seems to be no way to conduct an intellectual discussion concerning her, since I refuse to be treated the way I have seen some hillary-blind supporters treat other liberals/progressives whose support they need and should be persuading them for, instead of angry confrontation and condemnation.

She's incapable and I don't trust her to be better than bush. I could have held my nose and voted for her, in a pinch, but that's looking increasingly unlikely.

7. This "creature?" You want an intellectual discussion and you call her a "creature?"
I imagine you would have trouble starting a rational discussion. People would have to shower afterwards.

19. I was at a meeting the other night with five women.
It is a group I meet with about every six months and have for the past fourteen years. They are my clients.

After the meeting was over one of the women (the one I know the best)said she had heard at church the past Sunday that Hillary is definitely a lesbian. The conversation got very animated and all of the women were saying "So what..." "Makes no sense"... "Who cares?" "What difference does it make?" They were gently arguing with her.

Finally the church woman said - "Well I am just uncomfortable having one of them in charge". At which point I spoke for the first time and said - "Well you have been working with me for fourteen years and I am a lesbian. Hasn't that worked out pretty well for you?" while looking directly into her eyes and smiling sweetly. Church woman gasped. Everyone else gasped. I started laughing. Everyone else started laughing and church lady got up and left.

I had to stay after and listen to the "Are you just teasing us?" "I had no idea..." "Do you have a partner..", etc.

This is not a conversation I have ever had with clients because my private life is none of their business and I don't mix socially with any of them but I guess Hillary's campaign has flipped a switch for me.

Turns out all of the women are supporting Hillary.

Church lady called the next day to apologize and tell me I had given her a lot to think about.

20. Ahmadinejad may be a fanatical douchebag,
but the smart money would be in just letting him take the tour.

I suspect that Ahmadinejad never really intended to take the tour, but rather submitted the request knowing that a denial would make a great political PR move in his country. And it also helps to make Iran more sympathetic to those elsewhere.

Allowing him to take a few photos at Ground Zero would certainly take the wind out of his sails.

I'm just so sick of this axis of evil crap. It's so phony and hypocritical.

21. Were the mujahideen not terrorists?
And did the United States not support them?

They skinned Soviet troops alive..

Among other fun little games.
