From my POV, the first problem is most people don't know anything about the world around them if it isn't spoon-fed to them on the teevee. Too many people don't read or talk to their neighbors. How many people could name five of their neighbors? We're living in a world where social isolation is the norm. You can't change people's minds or open their eyes to reality if you don't talk to them.
For me the best thing I ever did was turn off the teevee and get back to reading and searching for information. Once I got away from absorbing information in a passive mode and had to put some effort into getting information about the world around me, I got more agitated with the more I learned. Years from now there may be some scientific study that shows that there is a difference between passive and active learning processes. I'm pretty sure my experience will be supported. on't believe what the corporate media tells you, they have an agenda that isn't in your interest, they just want to make money. As far as how to change things, here's a few ideas
Tell people don't believe any source of information unless you can find at least two other sources to confirm what you're being told. Tell people that "any official statement" should be considered as BS because they're just trying to sell their POV. In today's political climate, assume any statement from someone in a position of power to be a lie. Try and talk to everyone you meet about important subject. Most people know there is something wrong, they just don't know the details. If you can inform them or pique their interest that's another person with their eyes wide open.
The fight may be long and hard, but I'm sure we can win.
