I am a member of MOVE ON. ORG and I have been condemned
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 01:44 PM by Generic Other
by my country's leaders. What the hell does this mean?

Am I going to be monitored? Spied on? Incarcerated? Deported?

Anyone else on DU riding this bus with me today?

on edit:

Photos posted by DUers from the MoveOn.Org Cindy Sheehan vigils. These are the faces Congress condemned.

30. It's a Republican trick. Don't get mad at Democrats who voted Yes.
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 02:21 PM by Eric J in MN
That is what the Republicans want.

The resolution conflates a general with the troops:

To express the sense of the Senate that General David H. Petraeus, Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, deserves the full support of the Senate and strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of General Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces.

That way, a Senator like Amy Klobuchar can vote Yes and get activists like us mad, or vote No and Republicans can run ads saying she thinks "all members of the United States Armed Forces" lack "integrity."

I've decided I'm not getting mad at Democrats over this resolution.

43. Well, I am mad at the Dems that voted "Yes" to condemn free speech...They are weak and they got
suckered again by the Repukes who do it to them again and again and again...They get so worried that they will be labeled unpatriotic or not supporting the troops, so they capitulate...

Well, I'm sick of it and I and everyone should be angry at these Dems and to the party for continueing to show up to a street fight thinking they are playing Chess. It's a STREET FIGHT!!! There are knifes and everything seems to go from the point of view of the GOP and yet there are the Dems...wanting to debate whether they have a checkmate or not....

:puke:

20. You haven't been condemned.
It's all political fluffery. It doesn't mean anything. Just ignore it. There are far more important things to worry about. Democrats always go over the top to make sure they say they "support the troops" because otherwise the Rethugs just thump them. Meanwhile, putting MoveOn in the news is a nice little fundraiser for them (which ultimately will help the Dems).

Don't even get flustered by this. It's nothing.

44. I'm mad because the dems control what gets voted on. They voted on this piece of junk
straight out of bush's mouth right after voting on taking away fisa court oversight away, but are not pressing for votes on ending the war, for example. They are doing Bush's bidding over and over. They do not have to do this. For soem strange reason they believe it will be good for elections a year and a half away. meanwhile people are dying! and democracy is dying!
They should be voting on censuring Petraus who lied about weapons of mass destruction instead of playing bush's game. This whole Iraq week was a stupid political game with grave consequences.

I'm totally with you. I had a visceral reaction when Mister Bush put his stupid little grinning evil face into the cameras and shamed us. How dare he! As though this isn't my country too. Well I live here. I vote here. I pay taxes here. And I'm staying here. And you had better fucking get used to it. And then some, if I can help it. You bastard.

Tonight I came away from that speech he gave with the distinct impression that Bush hates his mother and his father, and we're paying for it.
