But reading this whole entry reminded me that during the investigations into the firings of the US Attorneys, that the Attorney who was fired in Missouri, he was told to try and ignore a local man who had taken to burning crosses on people's lawns.

THis order had to have come from higher ups -whether as high up as the Bush WH I can't say.

They shot his ass down in flames.

I'd look at these kids and wonder how people could go so insane about something as meaningless as skin color. I'd see the girls and think they looked like people I'd like to know and go to school with and saw the crazy, insane, rabid people in the mob and thought they had to be from some other planet.

It wasn't many years later when I was called a "n_____ lover" ... possibly the most obscene words that can be spoken ... and decided that it was a compliment. Earning the hatred of anyone who could even think that way is, to me, a mark of being a sane, loving human being.

That's when I decided that I wasn't doing my job as a human being unless I pissed off SOMEONE - so I've been doing it ever since.
