4. There's An Interesting Dynamic
Most, not all firefighter are Democrats and most, not all policemen and policewomen are Republicans...

6. Does He Have Special Plans For Firefighters
I respect his opposition to the death penalty... It's "politically" easier to support it...

9. Firefighters are indeed brave and I admire the job they do. However....
Mrs. Arbusto works for the local fire department here, so I've gotten to see firefighters in their natural environs, both at work and at play.

They tend to play at being macho.
They have problems not screwing everything that moves.
They're not the sharpest knives in the drawer, for the most part.
Until you start looking at firefighters at chief-level or higher, none have PR skills worth mentioning.

Yes, they're brave and do a damn tough job, but let's not forget they're human and have human failings, just like our troops.

20. Why in the world would Firefighters below Chief-level need PR skills?
All they need to know is how to fight fires.

Do female Firefighters screw everything that moves as well?

15. Now that's one I can get behind one hundred percent
The husband of one of my cousins used to be a firefighter.

Once while vacationing at a campground, he pulled someone out of a burning camper at the price of severe burns on his hands and arms. That takes a special kind of courage.

18. We had 2500+ Firefighters here in the mountains of So. Cal. for a fire that started 9/14.
It burned over 14,000 acres and if not for the Firefighters, the town of Fawnskin might have been a total loss. Those people ROCK!

We even had a DC-10 tanker dropping 12,000 gallons of fire retardant at a time. The guy was flying it like it was a CESSNA!

It was really great to see how much support the Firefighters got from the community up here. We had people with Thank You messages written on their car windows with shoe polish, hand-lettered Thank You signs up and down the boulevard, and a center where peeps could donate everything from fruit and energy bars to cold weather clothing for the Firefighters.

Once again they saved our our homes and our asses.

Firefighter ROCK!
