1. Would you prefer "ethnic cleansing?"
I guess it's more politically correct.

6. Like hell it is.
It describes a lesser scale, that is generally considered to also be genocide by international law types. But more politically correct? To whom?...

7. To holocaust deniers like Michael Medved.
I suppose he doesn't like the term "Holocaust" either. It's biased and unfair to the Nazis.

5. Michael Medved is a dumbass.
Anyone who claims this country didn't commit genocide against the natives should be taken as seriously as a holocaust denier.

8. If this was Germany Michael Medved would go to prison for holocaust denial.
He's lucky that he gets to live in a country where he can openly express his racism.

9. Choice of words depends on viewing etymology
Ethnic cleansing refers to various policies or practices aimed at the displacement of an ethnic group from a particular territory in order to create a supposedly ethnically "pure" society. The term entered English and international usage in the early 1990s.

Frankly, if a person is describing to me how they view their world, I would give deference to the individual describing their experiences.

10. It is the precisely correct word.
And until we acknowledge it and own it, we will never be able to evolve further socially or morally.

sadly,

12. My great great Grandmother and Grandfather survived .....
the Trail of Tears. If it had been a lie-they wouldn't have won their court cases when they sued. Just let them show their asses in Oklahoma spouting that shit. The Cherokee were peaceful, but we can provide the Apache with plenty of honey.

13. indeed it is-

"They told us that Indian ways were bad; they said we must get civilized. I remember that word. It means: "be like the white man". I am willing to be like the white man, but I did not believe that Indian ways were wrong.
But they kept teaching.... The books told how bad the Indian had been to the white man. We all wore white man's clothes and ate white man's food and went to white man's churches and spoke white man's talk.
And so after a while we also began to say Indians were bad. We laughed at our own people and their blankets and cooking pots."

Sun Elk, Taos Pueblo speaking about what he was taught at the white man's Indian School
