Draft Gore petition...Have you signed it yet?
Dear Vice President Gore:

Americans from every corner of our nation are calling on you. Please listen to our plea and run for the Democratic nomination for the presidency of the United States in 2008.

Never before has America needed a leader of your stature, vision and experience more than now. The next presidential election will be the most crucial one in our history, and you are the only Democrat who can unite the country and lead us to victory. And this country -- indeed, the entire world -- cannot afford anything less.

Our nation and the planet itself are entering “a period of consequences,” as you so well stated in “An Inconvenient Truth,” but in more ways than one. We are ruled by a government of the powerful and for the powerful -- a government that tramples our Constitution, wages unjust war in our name, sacrifices our economic future, and puts our very planet on the endangered species list.

America and the world need you now more than ever. Be our candidate. Run for president. And we pledge that we'll be there for you every day until the last vote is counted

2. Gore? ... Gore?... Wasn't he the VP who certified the bogus 2000 election?
Wasn't he the candidate who refused to fight fire with fire during the Florida recount -- costing my party and my country immeasurably?

Wasn't he the Clinton running mate who abandoned Clinton and Clinton's accomplishments out of a prideful and childish insistence to 'win it on his own?'

Wasn't he the candidate who showed us his remarkable acumen and character assessment by selecting Joe Lieberman as his running mate?

Speaking of which, wasn't he the candidate whose REASON for choosing Lieberman was to spit in the face of the man who gave him his greatest opportunity?

Gore? ... Gore? ... Isn't he the wimpy politician I vowed to never vote for again?

Yes, he is.

Don't bother drafting Gore. If you do, he won't fight.

5. All good points. People forget these things. He is a great man, and
he is doing great things in his life today, but he certainly also did all the things you list. And, in the end, he does not want to run. We should all accept that and applaud the life he is living.

8. i sure hope he reads your comment
and it totally pisses him off, helping him solidify his decision to run.

talk about having no clue about the process as it happened, in 2000...

YEP. i have signed the petition. as far as i am concerned, gore is the only one who has what it takes to take on the incredible job of undoing what w (and by extension, reagan) has done.

if gore runs we can either truly take a new direction, or we can continue with the same old faces, or a few new faces, backed by the same old corporations.

me, i want a completely new direction.

run al, run! it is your's, if you want it.
