Dowd makes the statement that 40% of the people in this country
have never lived under any thing for the Bush/Clinton administrations.

Since George Herman walker Bush had 4 years, Bill Clinton had 8 years and George Walker Bush had 8 years that to me adds up to 20. So is this ding bat telling us that 40% of the citizens of this country are 20 years and younger. Damn not only is she a stupid news repeater she don't know jack either.

Dowd just needs a little quantitative literacy.

6. The first Bush was a mediocre president.
The first Clinton was a good president.
The second Bush was an atrocious president.
Therefore the second Clinton will be a bad president.

Logic!

What utter bullshit. There are any number of women I'd LOVE to elect president. Barbara Boxer-- my senator-- comes to mind. No, my friend, Senator Clinton is just too, um, republican in democratic clothing for my taste.

8. Is that including the years the first Bush was V.P.? Then that is almost
30... and is that taking into consideration all the legal and illegal immigrants that have come to this country? Still seems a little high.. considering the mass amounts of Baby boomers.

15. Sounds like this is one of the themes of the Obama backers. I have a poblem with it:
I think our country needs a democrat who can win and solve the problems the republicans have created. I feel that our country is not in a position for me to pick Obama just because of his last name. I am looking at experience and effectiveness to help us. I don't like Obama's preachy talk peppered with religiosity - I have had enough of that. And, I think she can beat republicans - I don't think he can.

23. The republicans are going to come at the nominee like a Humvee. Do you want our nominee
to be the Mini Cooper in the way or a Semi Truck? I'll take the Semi. I will also take the nominee endorsed by McGovern. And that is Senator Clinton.

26. It's not the noise machine you should be worried about
but election fraud. They'll try to steal it again no matter who wins the nomination.

And as far as I can tell, the only substantial difference between Obama and Clinton is that she's a member of the Old Boys' Club and he's still trying to get in.

33. Hey - look how worked up people get, on both sides, whenever Hillary's name is mentioned
in any context.
It's almost guaranteed that, if you merely mention her name, the fur's gonna fly.
And, ostensibly, we are all Democrats here!
Now, tell me that if Hillary gets the nomination, she will not cause the polarization she's become famous for.
The Repugs will be mobilized like never before and will go to the polls in record numbers to vote against her, after listening
to their talk-show imbeciles demonize her for years.
There are even Democrats, sadly, who claim they will not vote at all (or will vote for another party's candidate) if she's the nominee.
And now please tell me how people can believe that, if Hillary got the nomination, she'd be a 'sure thing.'
I just don't get it!

42. The fur flies on DU. As a liberal I have been shocked at the vitriolic attacks on her on this site.
It is a vendetta against her. As a feminist I have been truly dismayed by the people on DU calling her a whore. It was intense. It has calmed down a bit after the Hillary supporters started putting up their dukes - we had too. And when we did the Obama supporters were stunned. All of a sudden it was "why is everyone hating Obama." I know I was on the threads when I and others protected her.

The Obama suporters threw a lot of vicious punches at her and we responded like democrats - with facts.
Then we got smart and fought.

I can't wait for that slime to be put out there. Sheesh. Hell, here in Chicago, we've had Dick Daleys for nearly 50 years. Not to mention folks in Massetchusetts who've only had Kennedys as Senators.

I frankly have had all the Bush and Clinton I need. We need some new thinkers. Clear out the hang ons also. Send Baker back to Tx. I would also clear out Byrd and Stevens. Give me a brake I am old and sick of seeing/hearing these people.
