Morning headlines brought to you by Carolyn Kay MakeThemAccountable.com Top StoryLimbaugh selectively edited "phony soldiers" clip, claimed it was "the entire transcript" In response to Media Matters' documentation of his recent description of service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers," Rush Limbaugh claimed that he had not been talking "about the anti-war movement generally," but rather "about one soldier ... Jesse MacBeth." Limbaugh then purported to air the "entire" segment in question. In fact, the clip he aired omitted a full 1 minute and 35 seconds of discussion that occurred between Limbaugh's original "phony soldiers" comment and his subsequent reference to MacBeth. Both John Roberts and Kiran Chetry, on CNN’s American Morning today, presented this controversy as though it were a “they said, he said” without investigating Limbaugh’s claim. If you read the entire transcript (click the title, above), you can see that Rush called all troops who disagree with him about the Iraq war phony soldiers. But far be it from Roberts and Chetry to point out who’s actually telling the truth here.—Caro Off the WahlThe WorldUK plans to pull 1,000 troops from Iraq BAGHDAD, Iraq - Britain's prime minister announced plans Tuesday to withdraw more than 1,000 troops from Iraq by year's end, and Iraq said it will take over security from British forces in the southern Basra province within two months.
