Harry Reid: Demand Rush Limbaugh Apologize
Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 03:40 PM by FLDem5
Demand Rush Limbaugh Apologize

Send a letter to Clear Channel's CEO Mark Mays, demanding that Rush apologize for calling members of the military and veterans who oppose the war with Iraq "phony soldiers."

Dear Mr. Mays,

On his September 26th broadcast Rush Limbaugh called men and women in uniform who oppose the war with Iraq "phony soldiers". Rush continued his tirade Monday by denying he had said anything wrong and attacking John Murtha, who served 37 years in the Marines.

In December 2006, a poll run by the Military Times found that only 35 percent of service members approved of President Bush's handling of the war in Iraq. Would Rush consider every other Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine to be phony? What about General John Batiste who retired from active duty in order to speak out against this war?

It's time for Rush to apologize for his remarks.

(on edit: If it were really a plea for Rush to apologize, this campaign would be directed at his inbox - I think there might be some politicking going on here. That is all.)

1. If limbaugh apologized it would be a lie. He's very good at it. Its how he makes a living
General Batiste gave up a third star to get away from the cancer that is george bush and his supporters and the republican party.

3. I think the idea is - if enough people demand an apology
they may feel some pressure.

9. well, with his listeners
being good "christians", I'm sure they will start a big "forgiveness" screed should he apologize. I mean, "forgiveness" is something that would apply to a rich, right wing phony, but never to anyone on the left of course.

4. Any apology would be insincere anyway - just kick his fat ass off the radio.
No need to give this prick any more publicity - just get rid of him.

6. An apology from someone who lacks integrity is worthless.

He makes his living using lies, exaggerations, and distortions. Anything resembling an apology from him would just be more bullshit.

7. Clear Channel has already flipped Reid off
Mark Mays, CEO of Clear Channel Communications Inc., wrote a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, saying, "Over the years Mr. Limbaugh has repeatedly praised the dedication and valor of our brave men and women in uniform.

"Given Mr. Limbaugh's history of support for our soldiers, it would be unfair for me to assume his statements were intended to personally indict combat soldiers simply because they didn't share his own beliefs regarding the war in Iraq.

8. LMAO.. yeah I'm sure Rush is thrilled with the soldiers
who disagree with him. Rush is well known for even handed debate and being respectful to people with opposing opinions.
