Just a reminder that there have in the past been politicians who put principles above their careers, and sometimes even their lives. Isn't it time?

1. Taft challenging the legitimacy of the Nuremberg Trials really
took conviction of principles as I can't imagine anything more politically incorrect or inflammatory than that stance, especially right after World War II. He paid for his position, but I'm sure he didn't regret a word.

3. Kucinich lost an election over his principled stance against privitization of his citys utilities
of course, he was proven right, and parlayed that into a being a national political figure.
