As to what people are thinking now...yes.

The unfortunate thing for the candidates the media are not fawning over is, the more these polls are are done the more solid the front-runners become as people will just start to accept them as being the winners and vote accordingly.

No one should be allowed to file their candidacy until November 1st.

The exit polling told us Kerry-Edwards were winning in 2004, and then suddenly, after 5:00, it all fell in favor of the chimp and Darth. Right.
Polls be damned. It's the votes that count - IF they are counted.

Edited to add: I have the same misgivings about preference polls.
