Imagine a universe with no polls.

Imagine going to vote without having a clue who the corporate connected main stream media says is in the lead. Imagine pondering your vote without hearing a projection from one political pundit or spinner or media whore. Imagine just showing up to vote with no counsel other than your own inner voice.

There was a time in our history long before the internet, television, or radio - where folks voted not having a clue who the winner might be.

Imagine being surprised, just like everyone else, when the votes were tallied.

Imagine...

They're about to do the same damn thing for Hillary.

And a pony. I want a pony. But yeah, the endless horserace analyses based almost solely on illusory image packaging is very tiresome.

it would also be nice to know if your vote is counted. Right now I am not even 75% sure of that. If there were no polls that would knock Hillary out of the race. The corp media has to keep telling us who to vote for. More than that they are telling us who not to vote for while declaring everyone but Hillary as fading.

I do remember those days before there was direct polls. Smoke-filled rooms did EVERYTHING, public be damned. Political machines controlled every state in the union. The corruption and ignorance of old-style politics was a million times worse than any pandering you see today.

The bandwagon effect used to be the whole enchilda of political movements, now it's just a side issue. Be carful what you wish for...

I do believe that the amount you (or anyone not connected) thinks they know regarding who really is behind the controls that drive our politics is far more than you could imagine. The truth is deeply entrench in the boardroom of corporations. I disagree with your assumption that it was a "million times worse" back in the day - yea, I remember the stories of the Chicago Convention.

But you really have no idea how deep the corporate dollars go toward buying off elections or rigging voting. How could you know? The truth may be far worse then you think.

While corruption may be more or less just as much an issue, unlike the early days of good-ol-boy back room deals - we now live in a world with nuclear weapons. In my view, there is far more at stake then earlier generations. Look at how close Shrub (and other enablers) has brought us to another war with Iran. The consequences are far greater then Iraq...

What am I scared of you ask?

A world where my children will live with less liberty and freedom. A world where the industrial-military machine drives onward with no regard for the environment. A world far less safe from it's own destruction then a generation ago.

That's the real problem I think you're getting at. The centralized, oligarchical corporate media does a horrid job of giving the populace the information it needs for a fully functioning democracy.

He doesn't give a fuck what anybody else thinks beside that voice in his head that he thinks is his "higher father" talking to him...

I hope he isn't the template...
