1. America is hardly begging Gore to run. See this topic:

2. I believe that Al Gore made up his mind long ago...

I don't think Al Gore is being led by the nose to the campaign
podiums.

I think he decided a while back, whether or not he would run.

If you take the position that he is running--you can easily spot
an iterative plan to run that has been slowly released. He proved his legitimacy
on global warming, and defined himself as a truth teller and an intelligent
man--with his movie and his international speeches.

His book laid out why it is important for someone to save this country
and our democracy.

His position statements on his Web site further demonstrate his commitment
to a robust domestic agenda, restoring our civil rights and his ability
to lead.

I this Gore is revealing his candidacy in his own way. He knows damn well
that the media is owned by the corporatist candidates, and that the neocons
have paid the media to be king makers--of candidates who will kow tow to
big corporations and big media.

Gore understands all of this very well. He also understands that the elections
are rigged and that the right-wing noise machine will attempt to slice and dice
him into unrecognizable pieces with lies, half truths and sadism. Al Gore knows.

I believe Gore has a plan for this country--and for the campaign season--that is
on his own terms. The support and begging that he's getting right now is not
the reason he's running--but I believe that he truly cares about "We The
People" and that will ultimately be the purpose and reason for his run.

Just my 2 cents, anyway.

I think it's one of the best arguments for his running that I've seen.

Thom Hartmann discussed it today.

4. I agree.
As much as I would love it if Gore wanted to run and jumped in the race, I also want a President who wants to be President. I also feel Gore has found his "calling" in the environmental fight and perhaps we really do need him more there.
