DraftGore.com Surpasses Clinton's Official Campaign Website
'Draft Gore' 2008 petition site flooded after Nobel win

<snip>

Draft Gore said the number of signatures on its petition spiked to more than 200,000 in the four days since the Nobel victory was announced, a jump of some 70,000. The site received nearly 100,000 hits on Friday.

According to web tracking firm Alexa.com, traffic on Draftgore.com surpassed Hillary Clinton's official campaign website by more than two-to-one on Friday.

"Interest in a Gore candidacy is skyrocketing," said Draft Gore founder Monica Friedlander. "People are stirred to action in record numbers by the possibility of America's greatest statesman and global leader becoming the next president of the United States."

The online Draft Gore petition currently has 208,000 signatures. An additional 45,000 people have signed a paper version of the petition, and these are not included in the online total.

5. I believe this morning's misleading headline
is a sign of Al Gore's growing popularity. As the Nobel Peace Prize continues to sink in and the South and West go through record drought waking more people up to the looming catastrophe of global warming, Al Gore's popularity will only go up, and that's why some in the media are so eager to twist his words regarding the Presidency.

I'm only just checking in today, but I knew IMMEDIATELY that I wanted to see exactly what he had said, knowing full well that there was most likely a twisting of words!

9. absolutely. He is a threat to corporate rule. Watch from a shift to anti-GORE
rhetoric on corporate media-especially with his non-traditional approach.

15. So you're hoping the drought gets worse?
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 07:48 PM by RestoreGore
because you think that will up his popularity? Now I've seen it all. And more people ARE AWAKE to the looming catastrophe (and many in this world now UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL) and that is because of Al Gore's work that got him the Nobel with the IPCC in the first place. Now we must work on solutions. Sad so many here are too preoccupied with counting website hits and living in denial to understand that. And if you supported the man you would know he has claimed many times that this isn't about him or his popularity to him. Now I know why people here who are so obsessed with his running don't support his organizations... they don't want him to succeed in his work out here. How pathetic. His speech upon receiving word of winning the Nobel Peace Prize tells the world where his focus is, and it is not with a political campaign, which is right now because as he also stated upon winning this prestigious honor, this is not a political issue. I believe him. Too bad you all also besides seeing him as a loser out here also see him as a liar.

No, really! I know it's hard for you to accept, but it is!

Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 07:31 PM by RestoreGore
ACTING is. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=2072231&mesg_id=2072231 And gee, where were all these people before Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize? I guess the phrase "nobody wants you when you're down and out is true." And really, comparing the hits on websites now? How sophmoric...but I guess that's "politics."

18. Excuse me? Don't tell me to shut up
I'm tired of these threads working to ignore Mr. Gore's true work in lieu of bs political tit for tat by using him and I will express that any damn time I choose to. I'm beginning to wonder if moles have infiltrated the draft movement and these blogs to specifically take up space and time ONLY talking about this over and over again to divert from discussing his work which IS important. The absolute obsession with this is truly getting suspicious in light of his own words and actions. So don't think you or anyone else is going to tell me to "chill" here.

20. I agree with you on some things
But I have to tell you, you are far too critical and unnecessarily nasty to people who disagree with you for me to offer you any support. There's a much better way to make your case than this.

You're on your own.

27. People are good at measuring the effectiveness of a given strategy.
And people at least on this forum do not consider Al Gore to be as effective as a civilian as he would be as President.

So please stop the rhetoric. Actually, your rhetoric isn't as bad as some people on these forums. Lots of bizarre leaps of logic out there.

31. I think you're just wishing Gore doesn't run. I personally think he will run
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 10:18 PM by sweetladybug
I think he is a very very smart politician/man. He can speak out as much as he wants on any issue right now. Once he announces he is running, the smear machines will be in full force. I think he is choosing to be in control of what he says and what he does instead of allowing the media and the Republican mouth pieces control him.
AND NO, GORE HAS NOT SAID DIRECTLY THAT HE IS NOT RUNNING.
GORE 2008!!!!!!!!
